Ya, I'm going to get the two seat version requiring the licensing. Amazes me that even though I'm a 777 captain here at Emirates, I still have to go thru the whole deal to get a license for this....
Well Captain if u can fly the 777 then a PPC license shouldn't be a problem , and i bet with only couple days of training u'll be flyin' a PPC with ur eyes closed :)
Ha, I'm in Dubai. I was curious if we were close to each other with mention of the 44C temp. There is a youtube on PPC in the UAE. Do a search for powered parachutes in the UAE. I'm going to look these guys up I think and see about it. Came very close to buying a new Pegasus Powrachute about a year ago back home. Still want to do it, but need to figure out the issues of getting one here.
i've seen their video on youtube and i believe they had some phone numbers on that clip ,you should give them a call ,i bet they'll be glad to help. i honestly don't know about UAE customs, but here in Saudi u only need couple of things:
1-Finish your training
2-Get a PPC license
then the Saudi Aviation club will give you a permit to clear your PPC from customs.
Powrachute in general are well built machines but shippin' one from the US will cost ya around $2000-3000.
Sport Pilot has done a lot to help fixed wing pilots. However it is somewhat of a joke when it comes to powered parachutes & trikes the application is very poor. One of the main reason there are so few certified pilots and instructors in this class.

It was a nice takeoff. Congrats on the new machine. May I ask where this was and what PPC you're flying?
Capt737AA 3 years ago
Thanks , it was in Riyadh , KSA , the machine is called AirChopper and it comes with the COAX-P:(Counter Rotating Propeller Gearbox)
btw. i sold it to a good friend of mine couple of weeks ago .

Are you at a high Density Altitude here? Seemed to take a long time to get airborne.
Capt737AA 3 years ago
yup , plus the temp was around 44c that day.
