Good reason why NVA regulars would drop their weapons and high tail it when they knew they were up against these guys. Never met a USMC Nam vet who didn't admire the ROK Marines.

We did out shine these guys in Korea, because the combat training we used in WWII was still in use. We were not as good in Vietnam, because we suspended most hand to hand training. These guys scared the VC, because they could fight. We learned our lesson, and now our Marines could easily beat these guys. MCMAP out does the ROK Marine system in many ways, especially ground fighting and counters.

@TenteixSaigo but the usmc still uses many move and training from the oriental and soem iserali fightnjg style...fyi usa had no real oringated martial arts all of it is hybrid which came from another country mainly europe (boxing and wrestling base) and asia...and some middle eastern..not african cuz most are wrestling and stick fight same with latin america..

However, the fame of their knife and stealth skills is WIDELY known. I never said that the martial art was an unarmed style. However, it is a martial art.

It may be an evolution of arts, but it is a unique style as a result. Therefore it is US made. Also, knowing techniques may not mean you know the history, but being able to apply those techniques is ten times more important than being able to recall history. I am fortunate enough to be able to do both, though. You, however, seem to not do either properly. Knowing martial arts makes you more respectable as a martail arts historian. It reassures others of your interests.

@asian714cali Also, the only point we seem to really have an arguement about is if ANY martial arts came from the USA. I never denied MCMAP used mostly oriental styles. You simply deny the weapon systems of the Apache as being a martial art. The natives had martial arts that were seperate from eastern styles. Kung fu is around 5000 years old, but according to the theory that Native Americans are of Asian decent, the migration happened no less than 16,000 years ago.

These guys are very tough, but that ratio is inflated. 5,099 Korean soldiers died in Vietnam, multiply that by 25 is 127,475 dead enemy. Korean participation in the Vietnam War was nowehere near that high.
