  • i love everly brothers.

  • love this song ....lynne

  • I just felt the urge to go out and take the first person for a dance

    [♪]

  • I was doing evenings at the (then) #1 station in Nashville (WKDA) at the time this was cut. We had a tight format with a select group of the proven top hits from which to play. However, an exception was made when Jack Stapp (manager) okayed Wesley Rose's bringing an acetate copy of the song up to the studio and he sat there as I premiered the record. Of course, the phones lit up, validating the exception made of playing an unproven record on my show. What a pleasant memory!

  • I saw the Everly's live in '72 & '84. They remain my Favourite American artist's from the 50's & 60's along with Presley and Holly. Brotherly vocal harmony beyond compare.

  • If only people still harmonised like the Everly Brothers. This song is nothing less than a masterclass. Thanks boys. Thank you so very much!

  • The best Everly's recording with no doubt

  • @whitefalcon64 i agree, the best!!!

  • i love they way they sing...makes me tingle....all over.....

  • EXCELLENT SONG!...FEELS LIKE A FRESH, LOVING AND JOYFUL LIFE IS IN FRONT OF YOU.... OR ...WHAT YOU ARE ALREADY LEAVING....

  • im 23 and I love coming onto Everly Brothers and Beach Boys video's and reading these comments. "loved my baby since I first heard this song" and stuff like that.

Best of all there are no arguments or anything under Everly Bro's video's

    Peace

  • @RoxxtheOldies2 An influence on the searchers too

  • I first heard this song in my hometown Bangkok back in 1950 something , I was about 12 years and loved to singalong this song even knew very little English then. Now I am 63 and still always love The Everly Brothers' songs....very beautiful and classic indeed.

  • @noinuk I respect your love of this song but it was not recorded in 1950 check it out for yourself late 50s at earliest I am 62 and don't have the energy to look it up now but I still have the original 45 pressing on Cadence I agree with you a great song and a great duo

  • This song is BRILLIANT

such darlings. such classic stuff. they dont write like this anymore but i'm so glad these songs can live on and survive via the internet for as long as possible.we need lovely songs like these!! Thank you uploader X xx

  • fantastic track all the way.

  • by far there best.

  • This is an alternate take! Interesting. I never heard this before. Thanks!

  • @DRocRecords Why don't you practice what you preach. Keep your boring comments, to yourself, and just enjoy the music!

  • @Fupsennod i do practice wat i preach, seeing as i was preaching how i hate people giving life stories, i dnt give life stories, so idk wtf ur reading haha nxtt time u reply maybe u shud actually read the comment 1st

  • A marvelous classic. History would record, however, that the Everlys, Ricky Nelson, Paul Anka, Bobby Vinton, et al, were knocked off the charts by the British Invasion and Motown.

  • lovely and charming song..puts a smile on my face^^

  • This track doesn't sound like the hit version..and it lacks the great drum rolls from Buddys buddy...Jerry Allison

  • @algywatt Rolls are there- just a different take/pre overdub.

  • Look at the back up on this !!! Floyd Cramer and Chet Atkins ... legends of rock and roll. This has always been my favorite Everlys song. Thanks for posting ... interesting with the chatter.

  • Can you imagine the woman these two must have had.

  • supi

  • You can hear the HUGE influence they had on Lennon & McCartney

  • On page 210 in the book *Ladies Love Outlaws* Don Everly comments on the reason he wrote this song and I quote,* I wrote *( Till I kissed ya about a girl I met in Australia, Her name was Lillian and she was very, very, very inspirational. I was marries but.....I wrote the song about her on the way home*...

  • I love this one soooooooo much. Thank you for sharing.

  • They wanted to sound like Buddy Holly on this tune, so much so that they even hired Jerry Allison to do the drumming.

  • Exactly how I feel about my boyfriend:):)

  • Años sin escuchar esta joya! Everly Brothers, de lo mejor!

  • at 0:12 he says im fuckin wit ya..

    lol..

  • i didnt know what herpes felt like ...till i kissed you....JOKE!!!!

  • I love Phil's high harmony when he was young. His voice was clear and pure...like a bell.

  • @aynatn AND he was drop dead gorgeous--his profile in the black short sleeve shirt (Don in the red) makes me swoon.

  • Great band and I think that Don Everly had the best male voice in music. He hits us all somewhere good.

  • Excellent !!!

  • Looooove the Everly Brothers!

  • I love this song..

  • If I had to pick? Don's voice is awesome, simply awesome

    I love Phil's too--

  • I much prefer the version from the Alma Cogan show

  • I love this music. I'm 21 and I think this is much better than any "music" that's out now. And congrats Charlie

  • I have loved this song since the first time I kissed my baby in 1959.

We will be married 50 years this july

  • Hey Charlie Congratulations to you and

your wife. HOpe I find someone tolove

me like u love her. Happy 50th

  • I am 72 my baby is 67. but yet today when no grand kids are arround. I kiss her and we are lost in the 50's again.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Charlie

  • Good for you man!

    You are both 'saints'.

  • @1937Charlie How wonderful is life!

  • @1937Charlie Charlie, I kissed my baby beside a pine tree in the autumn of 1959. I was a kid in high school, and he was dark-haired, dark-eyed, and had the sweetest smile. We've been married 44 years on December 31. He's STILL got the sweetest smile and he's STILL my baby.

  • @1937Charlie Congrats on a long and happy marriage, man. I just heard this song for the first time in my life tonight, and I loved it. 'Only 18, myself.

  • @tvandale21 18 here too, nothin beats a good oldie

  • @1937Charlie ...Careful Charlie, 16 will get you 50!

  • @1937Charlie That a boy Charlie! you sound like you have a relationship most of us would give the world for--wonderful thing to hear--enjoy many more!--God Bless,! but i'm pretty sure he HAS

Congrats on a long marriage and good taste in music.

  • @1937Charlie thats beautiful:) i hope to say that one day

  • @1937Charlie Happy Anniversary!

  • @1937Charlie Good job, Charlie!

  • Cool song but some of these comments are hilarious, simply hilarious. ;)

  • Thanks EVER so much for this vid! I love the Everly brothers....they had such great sound. They seemed pretty much down to earth for a time, even though they did do drugs for a period of time.

  • This guy looks like Hayden Christensen :-0

  • ive danced with ma girl friend to this song too

  • @summerbreez33 ...I shouldn't bother with champagne and caviar, if you are so easily pleased.

  • One of them, I think it was Don was addicted to amphetamines for quite a while. Anyway they were one of the best rock n roll acts ever.

  • There was a rumor way back when (the 60's) that Don & Phil were not brothers!

  • Never heard that one!

  • Thanks for this song ;)

  • amazing!! Where did you ever get this?? I love the everlys and this song in particular, and it's cool to hear the different piano riffs....the piano style on this song inspired me to take up piano. Oh, and Marinvalkyrien, I believe John and Paul met as young students, about 13 years old, when they went to the same school in Liverpool.

  • Yeah, Even I was amazed to see their pictures They were very cool when they were young ;) kind of handsome boys ;D

  • Thank You for posting!x

  • AWESOME....thanks for posting!

  • awsome crackers

  • Priceless!

  • i love everly bros and special this song!!

by the way there's a cover of this song by imelda may with darrel highman it sounds awesome you should check out!

  • july 7th is my birthday but in 1992 lol

  • Marianvalkyrien has no idea what she's talking about. Her original comment has nothing to do with the Everlys, so why mention it? She goes on to talk about the Beatles, not knowing anything about their history and growing up together in Liverpool.

  • I agree with "justmusicandme", this is a great version [love Don's solo] ....with terrific pictures too!

[wonder if it's "really" about a girl in Australia, (: ]

  • i love the whole song of course but don's solo, what a smooth and dreamy voice.

  • Reply to: Marianvalkyrien (8 hours ago) : I like this version even better than the live version, because the sound is great on this video. Also like the studio chatter before they got down to business. It's so hard to pick a favorite Everly song, but this one ranks right up there with me.

  • This is pop perfection - simple as that!

  • this has always been one of my favorite everly brothers songs. i love all of their songs but i do have some favorites. i would rather listen to don and phil sing rather than john and paul any time. i guess i will love these guys forever. i was 12 when i first started listening to them and i am now 59 and i still love them. they sound like angels, no one can ever beat them.

  • I just love the way they sing,,,How do they do that? And I love the way they sing "Mmm you got a way about ya!" in this one!

  • I like that Ama Cogan show they were on!

  • This is probably one of my most favourite Everly Brothers songs, i love it.

  • What a profound question...Was there really any reason for the Beatles? What could they do that Phil and Don could not?

  • Well,an accomplishment for them was they could harmonize fairly well despite not being related to each other.

  • Marian..."not being related"???? Where did you get that idea? They are brothers indeed and in blood.

  • Bumblebeemoi,I meant the BEATLES weren't related to each other.I wasn't referring to the Everly brothers.I'm not sure when the Beatles all met each other, but i don't think they grew up together. They had to discover each other's strenghts as adults,as far as i know.BTW,check out my videos.

  • this is such a cute song, felt like that once, even tho it's not one from my era,

  • Don wrote this song, reminds me of highschool days. This is one of my favorites.

  • first record i ever bought for my old dansette record player - ah memories !!!

  • Is there a reason for the Beatles?

  • The Everly Brothers were a great influence on the Beatles, and its been written that Lennon and McCartney consciously copied the Everlys two-part harmonies on Love Me Do and Please Please Me.

  • @Rock1945 absolutely, the first time i heare Please Please Me I thought of the Everlys...first time Little Richard heard them he said they sounded like "Four Everyly Brothers"....

  • I guess, as they evolved into something else in the lattern pt of the '60s. Hard to imagine The Everly's doing "Revolution", "Back To USSR" that are killers. But I can stay away from stuff like "Yesterday" or "Yellow Submarine" or that Yeah, Yeah, Yeah 'Mersey Beat'. But hey! That's me...

  • Thanks for posting!!

  • timeless music--thanks! Very nice video

  • I am just a road trip from the guys that the Beatles were so influenced by. I live in Greensburg, Kentucky, which is the central part of the state. Do they live in Muhlenberg County? I would just like to meet them some day.

  • This is one of my favorites of their songs - always love their vocals. Cool studio chatter intro too.

  • i love everly brothers great songs i can always remember my parents listerning to these as i was growing up

  • my favourite singers, they are awesome i just love music at the moment i am in contact with there cousin Kentucky USA, and she is telling me a great deal what the up to these days.
