  • Awesome, I may have to purchase this

  • @HeathbrookBadhwar glad to hear it, it is a lot of fun. I just played again 2 weeks ago.

  • Last my friends and I played with all the expansions except King in yellow (so that's Innsmouth, Misatonic, Kingsport, Dunwich, Curse of the Pharaoh, Black Goat, and The Lurker). Took us only 4 or 5 hours and even though half the group was new players and was alot to take in (since we played with everything from every expansion) they did well and we won. Truly an amazing game but I'm only doing that once. It was too much honestly. lol

  • @LokiSeto1 It sounds like a lot to take in. A lot of rules to sort through. Did you win? Do you play rpgs?

  • @woodwwad Alot of rules but the handy thing is that in the Misatonic Horror Expansion they give you cue cards that state how many players and gives you the exact number of gates needed to be opened at once or sealed completely to beat the Ancient One and also gives the Monster Limit and Outskirts limit as well. I found that very useful. But yeah alot of rules with relationship cards, a Guardian, a Herald, a Institution (also new thing in the Misatonic expansion).

  • @woodwwad And yes we won. It was a losing fight just to try and seal gates but once the Ancient one awoke it was much easier. Even though we were playing with 6 people and 2 people gained a Bound Ally (Lurker Expansion) it made it that we needed to get 8 successes for each Doom Track token. We won in the end though.

  • @LokiSeto1 Ah, which expansion do you think is the best? I've been thinking about picking one up.

  • @woodwwad Either Dunwich or Innsmouth. Extra game board, more monsters and more investigators.

  • @LokiSeto1 I've heard good things about both of those, thanks for the thoughts.

  • Oh boy, do I ever remember this game! It was my turn that week to set up a board game and my friends and I played for about two hours. We never got to finish because one of our number (who lost three characters that night) got so frustrated with his performance in the game that he knocked the board over and stormed off. So yeah. Making sure you don't hang out with sore losers is key.

  • @graph180 I hope you give the game another try, it's a great game. I've yet to see anyone loose more than 1 character. I've only known 1 person that would act like that as an adult & he had serious problems. Of course I wouldn't hang out with that guy. I can see were sore losers would be really bad, especially since there is a back stabbing element to the game too, there can only be 1 winner. Thanks a lot for the comment, I hope you check out some more of my vids & if you like the please sub

  • kewl game

  • @QuinnSilver yes it is

  • I want to play this game soooooo bad.

  • Damn! You beat me to it, man! Was gonna review this game as well because it is just so spectacular. May still do it anyway.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @Webhead123 you should give it a review. No one else in the community had done one, so I was forced to find someone from outside to send it to as a vid response.

It is a great game & lots of fun. This game would be possible to play over skype by the way.

  • I prefer to describe the game as Lovecraftian monster bashing. It's one of my favourite games.

The one weak spot of the game is the fact that using magic spells is hardly a useful alternative to using physical or magical weapons.

  • @VoraxTranstellaris that is usually true but there are some spells that are pretty great. There are some that don't cost sanity loss & the monster binding spell is the tits.

  • @woodwwad Your chance of actually drawing a spell like that is rather small compared to the chance of drawing an at least moderately useful weapon. If you have the choice, it's really not worth the risk going for a spell.

  • @VoraxTranstellaris It all depends on the investigator you're playing. Some are a lot better with the spells, so you need to go for the spells with those guys. I agree overall I like the weapons better in the game. Spells are suppose to jack you in

  • So....it's not Arkham Asylum?

All jokes aside, it looks like an interesting game to play.

  • @trucontent very fun. There is a location in the game named Arkham Asylum

  • Just a quick constructive comment: Must you shout in your introduction each and every times? Man... that's loud! Some peoples could find it aggressive instead of dynamic. Anyhow... if you work out your introduction a little bit I swear I'm gonna subscribe. You are a GM with great talent I'm sure you can smooth out that noisy BANG we got each time. Thanks.

  • @Nolinquisitor Thanks for the comment. You should certainly show some love with a sub.

  • @Nolinquisitor No offence, woodwwad, but I have been thinking the same. I thought it was just me.

  • Very tempted by this game. Still got all the descent exspions to get tho befor this.

  • @MattBuck88 Descent is a fun game, I've played it before, but I feel this is much better.

  • Ive always loved H.P Lovecraft's stories and Ive seen Arkham horror before in the store its just always been out of my price range, well looks like I have something to save up for again.

  • @CitiCite184 you can get it a little cheaper online. So check ebay & amazon.

  • I've had this since its the newest editions release from Fantasy flight. Big favorite around here. Glad to hear its corrupting others.

  • @PagrZero Oh yes, I first played it about 3 years ago & fell in love right away. When I mentioned how cool it was to my group, one of my players bought it for me for Christmas. Great present. I'm thinking of buying an expansion or two.

  • Is Mansion of Madness a stand alone or add on for this do you know? We kinda fancied trying it.

  • @RobertJFreemantle I don't think it is part of this game line, I'm not 100% sure though.

  • @RobertJFreemantle Mansions of Madness is stand-alone.

  • I've known an 8 year old that loves this game. But he is a genius.

Night gaunts were always my favorite Lovecraftian beast.

  • @tetsubo57 Night gaunts are great monsters, I've used them in D&D & WOD, I enjoy them very much.

Yeah, he'd have to be very smart to appreciate this game at that age.

  • Nice video ^^ tbh i thought arkum was going to be batman :P

  • @Vdecepticon No the writers of Batman took the name from HP Lovecraft, he created it. Infact DC Comics has even used Cthulhu in their writings. If you've never read Lovecraft & you enjoy horror writing at all you should check him out. He was unquestionably the best horror writter of the last century.

  • @woodwwad "The Doom That Came to Gotham" is the best elseworlds tale ever.

    Great review, BTW!

  • @vynterbone I don't believe I've read that one yet, who's the author? I've read all of Lovecraft's stories & many of the other writter but I still have a good amount left to read.

  • @woodwwad Mike "Hell Boy" Mignola and Richard Pace. It came out in 2000. 3 issue run. DC comic's high water mark.

  • @vynterbone ah, it's a comic book. I'm following you now. Is it a batman comic?

  • @woodwwad Yes. You get to see Mr. Freeze melt.
