Was obviously a beautiful woman but a vain one. EVery bio I have ever read, and I have read many, have all noted how reluctant she was to run second to her daughter in law and how imperious she was with her son, blaming him for all problems in Russia. She was not the brightest of women, like, Maria of Romania was, per se, but she was a social dinamo and beautiful and charming and knew how to manipulate and widdle, socially, to get what she wanted. Was lucky to have gotten out of Russia.
Congratulation for this exceptional and excelent video about a great and extremely suffered danish lady and her husband Czar Alexander III and family: mother and grandmother of cruely murdered Romanov
For those who do not know: This lady was NICOLAS II's Mother. Happily, she SURVIVED the Russian Revolution! In the movie, "Anastasia", she was played by Helen Hayes.
Thank you for remembering Maria Feodorovna is such a beautiful way. She was a remarkable lady as her actions during and after the Communist Revolution showed.
Our beloved Pricess, Dagmar, became Zarina in Russia.
I am so proved of the Russian Gourvernment that they gave permission to the re-funeral of her husbond, Alexander III, in Roskilde Cathedral, next to her.
Now we here in Denmark have those two who loved each other and had chosen one another laying side by side in one of our most beautiful churches. They are now laying by their one kinds: the royals.
