Hey Brodie Smith. I started playing Ultimate (yes, I capitalized it) recently and I've picked up on the throws quickly (thanks to your instructional videos). However, I've recently had the pleasure of playing in two tournaments, during which I've realized how little I knew about the game. Personally, I think I've learned pretty well how to play against man on man defense, but playing against a zone has me a little troubled.

Is there any way you can teach strategy in some new videos?

Man, watching you throw a hammer in the game is epic. It's so smooth yet goes so fast and far, it's obviously your bread-and-butter shot for a reason! If I could at least throw it nearly as smooth and half as far, I'd feel pretty accomplished. But my throw's come a long way since I first tried it (but that's not saying much lol). I'm guessing your proficiency comes more from your fitness more than anything of course.

also Ultimate Frisbee probably gets pretty rough. especially when receiving a pass. i wouldnt know though.

i'm still amazed after all these years that people still don't get down low on their mark. One of the first things I was told starting out was to mark low. Get your arms down to the opponents knees and force them to throw from higher up where they are less comfortable. Your arms actually move quicker going up than they do going down to block. Count how many times Brodie beats his mark by throwing under the marker with their arms at shoulder height.
