Monsanto GMOs, contaminate biodiversity, they want to create dependence on a corporation for survival, their genes contaminate natural crops, then they own the patent to that plant, their GMO, makes it necessary to use THEIR herbicides , which basically kill any other non GMO crops. this has caused starvation, and ruined economies world wide. its just slavery, they should be hung.

Scottish bullshitter from Monsanto. Africa DOES NOT have a food production problem, it has a chronic inability, through infrastructure, to store and transport (ie export) the food they produce.

The issue is developing rapid train systems to export food, not give them GM white corn which rots their intestines.

The question is, will imperial powers offer Africa the technology to be able to transport their food, and live in 21st century conditions. Thankfully China is helping in that area.

Last time I looked I saw an interview on BBC where in an interview an Indian farmer near tears tried to tell that small Indian farmers were committing suicides because Monsanto was destroying them. The hunger that exists in the world is due to rich countries exploiting the poor. Stop the exploitation and big talking about nothing. Pull out your foreign firms and let people be self-sufficient They want nothing more. It is that simple. No brainer.

OK but what about permaculture and the idea of motivating people to make the earth under their feet sustainably productive. All this talk about the need for a more productive seed and building more roads to get the product to the people who need it is like the long way around the barn. Biotech is not about feeding the world but making more profits, which it has done abundantly during the recent food crisis, with its herbicides sector making a colossal $1.9 billion...no squeezing of the belt for them obviously.But here's the conundrum...if GM crops mean less chemicals how come the usage is increasing??
