These children can have well over 200 fights by the time they are my age & all that accumulated damage stacks up on them & is parts of the reson many are RS by & walking like a penguin by age 35. @cassiaro - Muay-Thai is Thailand's national sport. In North America and most parts of the world people will train for defense, recreation, stay healthy and fight/compete because they enjoy it. In Thailand however its generally the poor, farmers and orphans. If they don't fight they don't eat simple as that. You can make 2-3x more fighting in Thailand than working in the sweat shops there.

@MadeInDC1983 - It is truly sad these children are not given the chance to live a normal life according to North American standards. To the Thai camps these children are their revenue life line. They fight earn money and thats how it will be for the next 20 years. They grow up to be instructors and then teach other children. But at least they are not growing up in the "hood" selling crack, on streets drugged out.

I have been to Thailand, and I was born and raised in Washington DC. ....have traveled along the East Coast of America as well. American kids play sports, create games for themselves, clubs, join groups at church, along with various other things. That ridiculous list of things you displayed must be how it is where you are from. Im sorry to hear that.

I hope that you or your kids if you have them never have to deal with people on the other side of the tracks. How I grew up was a bit rough. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. But I learned a lot and I made it out.

@cassiaro - Muay-Thai is Thailand's national sport. In North America and most parts of the world people will train for defense, recreation, stay healthy and fight/compete because they enjoy it. In Thailand however its generally the poor, farmers and orphans. If they don't fight they don't eat simple as that. You can make 2-3x more fighting in Thailand than working in the sweat shops there.

I was ringside taking photos and this was a great set of fights. Most of the boxers still return each year to compete in the bouts that are organised to celebrate the lunar New Year. The bouts featured took place in 2001.
