@evadparry - Evidence? Like the evidence you chose not to show us where the guy walks from the pitch in tears? I suppose this was an Oscar-winning acting performance? No? Hence why I say ignorance. Question? Funny thing mate: I barely have the downtime to comment on videos at the moment because I do two jobs. You have nothing better to do with your time than to edit together something deliberately misleading about someone you don't know.
@TheSageofWestRiding The evidence relates to Shawcross's reckless tackles. The fact that he bursts in to tears when he is sent off is neither here nor there. It's not about malice or being sorry it's about reckless tackles.
@evadparry Fine. I suggest you follow darts instead. Most of us apart from you and Arsene Wenger accept that at some stage, things none of us want to see can happen. This is football and life. You'll note that the recent rule change re: "reckless" challenges has not been positive. We now see players receive an auto red card for "not being in control" of one or both feet (a la Rodwell, Kompany etc), and yet nothing is done about all the cynical cheating we always see that hurts the game more.
@evadparry hold on for a sec. 1: yes the tackle might be reckless, but if you watched it closely and not with an eye for the bad thing you might have noticed he didn't intend to do such a tackle, he could'nt have had any idea he was gonna hurt ramsey that hard, every player could have done that. 2 the part when he cried and where ramsey told shawcross visited him in the hospital you don't show, you're just trying to make shawcross look bad, you should be ashamed.
Didn't break his leg on purpose but Shawcross is clumsy..and rubbish at premier league level. He definatly isn't as big a scumbag as Roy Keane who couldn't take making a fool out of himself in 1997 and took his embaressment out on Haaland years later.
@martinb403 learn to spell Wales you peasant. No wonder you hate Ramsey for having made Shawcross cry like a baby. You were probably one of the ones booing Aaron for ignoring Shawcross's tame attempts at an apology; over a year later. Sad little loser.
@Amitt149 on sunday when arsenal fans sang "one Aaron Ramsey" stoke fans sang "one ryan shawcross", doesn't take a genius to work out they were chanting that because of that tackle, they didn't chant it at any other point.
Shawcross is one hardcore tackler n yes he broke his leg but it was only worthy of a yellow but would have been harsh to only give him a yellow for breaking someones leg
shawcross is a brilliant defender! it was 1 50/50 challenge both players had the right to go for the ball it was a complete accident that ramseys leg got broke not shawcross fault at all!
The person who posted this video is a moron. Why try to make it out that shawcross has something against arsenal - just because he injured one of your players and two of your former ones. It was a 50/50 challenge, both lads swung their legs at the ball and ramsey came off worse. You even see shawcross holding his leg after the challenge which shows it wasnt intentional.
Why dont we just take tackling out of the game if thats what you want? Its people like you that ruin football.
what aload of bullshit just because he's a stupid arsenal fan.it was an accident and his foot was already broke before the tackle anyway.and that was his first red card!
Obviously he didn't mean to break his leg, but he clearly doesn't really care about it. He'd do another tackle like that any day and he'd break someone's leg while doing so.
He just goes in not caring if he actually hurts someone or not, that deserves a red card. IMO stoke should get way more red cards than they do.
@kanated What the hell are you talking about, he was crying when he walked off the pitch and ramsey even came out in the paper and said shawcross visited him in hospital. That really sounds like he doesn't care.
You should watch football more often like the incident between roy keane and and halaand before you condemn shawcross.
@Valenciaboy91 my opinion - he didnt mean to break his leg, and lets be fair he did care. but it was a stupid challenge. and that could have cost a young lad his career
@kanated how does he not care ? he's clearly in distress about whats happened and they spoke to tony pulis after it and he says about hoe distraught he was and everything ?
Reckless tackle yes, but it was clearly not intentional. You can see that from video when he is about to take a swing of the ball with his left foot. Ramsey's reactions was lightening quick; plus Shawcross's reaction said it all when he got sent off in tears. Sure lessons have be learnt here and to look out for others.
It was totally accidental things like this happen in football. u can tell by ryans reaction he was distraught and he went to hospital to visit him and apologised. what more can u do?
to me, it looks like ryan went over the ball and just had his other foot planted like a typical defender on a standing tackle in midfield. no malice, just bad timing and not 100 percent commitment. he could just be going for a professional tackle. hes out of position and arsenal could break and as he is CB, would look bad if he gets the ball taken and arsenal scores because we all know they can pass on the counter. ramsey looked committed to me.
Shawcross is getting to the ball first... ramsey just thought he would be quick and poke the ball away. It didn't come off. Twas very unlucky. Ryan should be in no way blamed.
Thats bullshit, because he has 'a history of being reckless' doesnt mean he intends to do this to people, noticed how its always arsenal who get injured? Maybe if they stopped being such pussies and actually put 100% into all tackles maybe they wouldnt get hurt so often.
It was reckless but at the end of the day it was a 50/50 challenge as Shawcross has the ball originally. It was unfortunate for Ramsey as he is a great young player but he is back now. Shawcross has obviously done bad tackles in the past but its just unlucky however the one on Adebayor may be bad but he deserves to get kicked up and down the park.
fuck intent! why do the British always harp about 'ohhh he's not that kind of player!' That's irrelevant...Shawcross went in hard like the dumb thug he is and broke Rambo's leg in two pieces. He was reckless...end of story!
@Trinireds86 the british? your saying every english person thinks the same? you narrow minded cunt. it was 50/50 and ramsey is a pussy. went in half harted.
Shawcross made a reckless tackle? He had the ball, Ramsey went to take it off him, he pulled it off badly and his leg got broke. Ramsey ran into Shawcross, not the other way around. I can understand people saying that the Martin Taylor tackle on Eduardo was dirty (I'm a Birmingham City supporter), but just watching the footage here it's hard to blame Shawcross for what happened.
@levajrus That's an irrelevent point, Shawcross had the ball and Ramsey cut across Shawcross to try and tackle it off him. You can't say that Shawcross made a "reckless tackle" when it was Ramsey trying to take the ball of Shawcross not the other way around. The Eduardo incident was different as Eduardo had the ball and Taylor went in for it, this is the exact opposite. In both cases the Arsenal player was simply too quick for the opposing player, but Shawcross had the ball here, period.
@Burbridge92 Shawcross had NO control over the ball whatsoever(It's obvious from the video). There's no denying that mate. But you're free to live in your fantasyworld if that makes you feel any better.
@levajrus Another irrelevent point, the difference in ability amongst players on the two sides is not in question here. Regardless of whether Shawcross was maintaining the ball well or not, he was clearly running with the ball. His lack of control is probably what made Ramsey think of taking the ball off him, but the fact still is that Shawcross was the one with the ball, Ramsey went in to get it off him (hence the change of direction of ball movement) and failed to get out of the way in time.
@Burbridge92 Watch the video properly, it's the perfect evidence. The ball is going in the same direction of Shawcross, moving at the same time that he was (although he wasn't as fast), and he had been the last player to kick the ball. In his mind he is running with the ball. Ramsey hadn't even had a touch of the ball until within a second of the collision. So he did take it off Shawcross. The Eduardo incident was similar, except Eduardo was the one with the ball then.
@levajrus I've just viewed other footage of the incident and I take your point, Ramsey clearly wasn't going for the ball. It's amazing what close-ups and different angles can demonstrate.
@Burbridge92 wat u talking about, Ramsey was going for the ball dickhead, its a hard challenge and poorly timed from shawcross but not meant, but Ramsey was clearly going for the ball, im just glad he's back to his best, cud of ended his career for fucksake.
What if Ramsey didn't brake his leg? what would the ref do then? NOTHING! It was when i first saw that the leg was broken he gave Shawcross the red card! so if you think this i a bad tackle, your'e eithar an idiot, or an Arsenal fan!
@markybeardmore I agree! I was always taught as a young player to cut, pivot, pass and shoot always with both feet hovering several inches above the earth. If your foot touches the ground and your leg doesn't get broken, the defender isn't doing his job. Wild, flying slide tackles in midfield on a player posing no threat to your goal whatsoever - it's just how they play in England.
The tackle isnt a bad one, he tryed to play the ball. Obviously he used exessive force but he never meant to break ramseys leg or even injure him. You can tell, shawcross is nearly crying after he realises whats happend.
@orkan84 Actually the rules of the game say that a player can be shown a red card for 'excessive force' in a tackle. I dont know about you but enough force to break someones leg seems pretty excessive to me.
As is clear to anyone with eyes, his leg was bust before he made contact, fact, look at arsenals v stoke red and yellow count, facts, tackles happen, accidents happen, get over it
@JasonOon95 why because he went for a ball the same Ramsey did...if it was the other way round that it could have easilly been and Arron Ramsey broke Ryan Shawcross' leg does Arron ramsey desearve a ban from football for life.
@orkan84 Agree to a lesser extent. With the injury that bad he had to go, but people get injured in football and it wasnt particulary dirty or anything. Just bad luck causing a horrific injury.
@orkan84 it was even a 50/50 tackle, otherwise they would of both be at the ball at the same time, ramsey was going for the ball where as shawcross, may have gone for the ball but hes happy to take all of the man at cost if he doesnt get it.
