I agree! The coolness in the voice fascinates me. But I hate how the German-trained sopranos sound, because they have that horribly metallic glint in their upper register (I think Gruberova is one).

Yes. I regret that my first comment was too harsh for Italian singers, but the German cilture of singing I find generally more interesting.
