Tim Burton is NOT the director, just one of the producers. Actually, this film had been written for him, but he didn´t want tu direct it, so the writer did it. But he didn´t do so well as anybody expected.

I remember seeing this while i was a teenager in high school. I laughed for weeks & weeks about this scene!! How in heck would drinking saltwater cause you to hallucinate "a floating cupcake that spits tobacco". I forgot about the cooking oil, I guess maybe he cooked himself in the sun. Too bad Mystery Science Theater doesn't do 90's movies; this kinda would be a good candidate for one. Such a weird movie, so bad it's funny.

Hardly, think of every movie you've ever seen that was bad and then sort out which movie you would rather NOT watch over Cabin Boy and your statement has been foiled.... I know for sure that I'd rather watch Cabin Boy than Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever starring Antonio Banderas...... And while that movie is bad, I wouldn't call it the worst movie ever. It would take months and months to make that determination. But even still that'd only be based on opinion.....
