I've never liked this show. As a kid I was all like "where's all the fighting? Shouldn't there be more? Screw this, I'm going to play Mario."

As an adult who enjoys quite a bit of anime, going back to watch this was painful. Nothing about this show is good apart from the occasional character design. Poor animation, pacing, voice acting, plot, action, humor, everything. This show lasts purely on nostalgia. It's never been good.
