I LOOVE this song and I LOOVE this video!! This song was such a blessing!! In this video I can hear and see the different voice parts that they have based off of this video! Karen is a soprano, Jacky is a tenor and Dorinda seems to be an alto/soprano(maybe second soprano)...I LOOVE IT!!! It's AMAZING how they harmonize soo beautifully! They TRULY have a gift from the Lord! It's also funny to see the clothing from the 80's in which most of the 80's trend currently repeated! God bless everyone!

I have been reading the comments on this song and its quite troubling some of the things said. If for whatever reason we think a singer/preacher or anyone for that matter is not in line with God our duty is to pray... We should not take the seat of judge/jury. Not to praise the Clark sisters but none of us watching this ministry piece knows what these women may have been going through. God could be using this very song to minister to some.

I know Jesus through His Word and I feel the presence of His Holy Spirit as He said I would when He convicts me of sin in my life and when He gives me strength to do right instead of the wrong I am tempted and want to do. AND when He brings back to memory those things I have studied in His Word when I need them.
@trho1 - So much is talked about the Holy Spirit these days. But if you talk about what the Bible said He would do for us, people say it is legallism....But do you know what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit's work? Not being horrible.
Seriously: Comforter and Convictor of Sin...not because God wants us to feel bad, but because He wants us to know so we can confess and go to the Saviour and be SAVED FROM OUR SIN. So a song or anything else from Him should do these things.

MANY secular songs make people feel good. I am a musician. I know many chords to make you cry or feel happy or feel romantic. But that is JUST emotion. I could be a Devil worshiper and you could think I am praise God. Emotion should be only a part.

@edmaes1 - Not dissing you at all, but I find it interesting that most of the Clark sisters' videos invoke responses about the quality of their singing or of the professionalism....I want to be encouraged to turn from my sin and read God's Word more. Give me a song and a singer that does that. I think these ladies are amazing, but unfortunately, have always found it a little too showy and ott so distracting from leading me to the Holy Spirit. @trho1 - I appreciate your comment. I was, however, continuing from a previous comment where I stated that if a someone is a minister in music and led by the Holy Spirit, the Praise would and should be towards the Lord, not the singer or musician.
While I can well see that people are very talented, talent does not ALWAYS equal "Holy Spirit Led". I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS THE CASE OF THE CLARK SISTERS, but I AM saying that most of their songs on here seems to lead people to praise THEM...
@hihosilverlining2 - I am a singer myself and have sang with many well known gospel groups / choirs and even then was concerned when a lot of emphasis was put on the "phat harmonies" and groove that seemed to make people say how great the group was and not how great the Lord is and encourage people to turn away from their sin and to HIM

God is woshiped and praised in our lives when we choose Him and serve Him by obedience to His Word and allowing His Holy Spirit to lead us to do HIS will. The Gospel of Jesus is that He died to save us from our sins and that though we ALL deserve to die, He offers eternal life. But so called annointed preachers and singers these days are teaching about prosperity being the reason for Christianity etc. Sad

@trho1 - But also, like I said, what I FEEL is not always an indication of something right. Because "there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12), I trust to the WORD OF GOD. His Word is a "lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105).
If anyone "speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20).

I am simply saying that from MY experience, the mostly invoke comments about their talent, and I personally find their style too secular sometimes and too showy. But that is my OPINION. What I would GO BY to see if they were true ministers, is the Word of God.

BUT how we feel is NOT a true measure of what is real. We are so inferior to God in thought and deed. He has blessed us to have a will and to experience different emotions. However, just becuase we feel strongly towards someone FOR EXAMPLE, it is still a sin to have sexual relations with them before marriage, no matter how right it feels. The Bible is the Guide.

But only God can SAY what is actually right!

Another example is when a song might say that Sunday is the Sabbath day....The Bible is VERY clear on this. But most Christians don't even know this anymore because of the great emotion attached to a day instituted by man and not God.

ppl watch these vids for different reasons. Some for the message others for the heck of it and some for the way they sing. Everybody is not a christian nor does everyone listen for the message just let ppl enjoy the vid for their own reasons and stop trying to force them to do something they don't necessarily want or care to do.

It seems as though when Twinkie left the group Jackie's voice was more prominently heard eventhough she wasn't singing many lead parts. It's like she is really is holding down her part in this song and in other songs that I have heard them perform w/out Twinkie. What do y'all think?
@BlessedAfricanQueen my theory on why jackie is more prominently heard without twinkie is because Karen was doing most of the leading and dorinda had started preaching more often so she would wear her voice. So the harmony that really need to be brung out was good for jackies voice cuz her voice is more husky than her sisters.

I know Jesus through His Word and I feel the presence of His Holy Spirit as He said I would when He convicts me of sin in my life and when He gives me strength to do right instead of the wrong I am tempted and want to do. AND when He brings back to memory those things I have studied in His Word when I need them.
He is a GOOD GOD and doesn't leave us guessing.

Seriously: Comforter and Convictor of Sin...not because God wants us to feel bad, but because He wants us to know so we can confess and go to the Saviour and be SAVED FROM OUR SIN. So a song or anything else from Him should do these things.

MANY secular songs make people feel good. I am a musician. I know many chords to make you cry or feel happy or feel romantic. But that is JUST emotion. I could be a Devil worshiper and you could think I am praise God. Emotion should be only a part.

@edmaes1 - Not dissing you at all, but I find it interesting that most of the Clark sisters' videos invoke responses about the quality of their singing or of the professionalism....I want to be encouraged to turn from my sin and read God's Word more. Give me a song and a singer that does that. I think these ladies are amazing, but unfortunately, have always found it a little too showy and ott so distracting from leading me to the Holy Spirit. But I pray it does that for some. God bless x

@trho1 - I appreciate your comment. I was, however, continuing from a previous comment where I stated that if a someone is a minister in music and led by the Holy Spirit, the Praise would and should be towards the Lord, not the singer or musician.
While I can well see that people are very talented, talent does not ALWAYS equal "Holy Spirit Led". I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS THE CASE OF THE CLARK SISTERS, but I AM saying that most of their songs on here seems to lead people to praise THEM...

@trho1 - Amen to doing things well. But the Bible does not say that God is praised because of the phat harmonies and grooves. God is woshiped and praised in our lives when we choose Him and serve Him by obedience to His Word and allowing His Holy Spirit to lead us to do HIS will. When we sing, yes it should be the best we can offer and we should practice and prepare both physically and mentally. But ultimatly what I'm saying is phat sounds don't equal annointing. That is a lie from the pit of hell and one of satan's BIGGEST tricks. It's why so many are being led astray. The Gospel of Jesus is that He died to save us from our sins and that though we ALL deserve to die, He offers eternal life. But so called annointed preachers and singers these days are teaching about prosperity being the reason for Christianity etc. Sad

@trho1 - well praise God. I have a relationship with the Lord and I know He is real. I also know that the Gospel is that I was born a sinner, but by God's GRACE, I have an oppotunity to live eternally with the Lord.
I pray that for you and ANYONE listening to a preacher or singer, that THIS message will be clear, and that we will ALL realise and remember that to be a Christian is to walk in the ways of the Lord and to share the wonderful Gospel Message. This should be the main purpose.

If anyone "speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20).

FOR THE LAST TIME I AM NOT CONDEMING THE CLARK SISTERS. I am simply saying that from MY experience, the mostly invoke comments about their talent, and I personally find their style too secular sometimes and too showy. But that is my OPINION. What I would GO BY to see if they were true ministers, is the Word of God.

I KNOW emotion and trials. I know the tears for sadness and for joy.
BUT how we feel is NOT a true measure of what is real. We are so inferior to God in thought and deed. He has blessed us to have a will and to experience different emotions. However, just becuase we feel strongly towards someone FOR EXAMPLE, it is still a sin to have sexual relations with them before marriage, no matter how right it feels. The Bible is the Guide.

@trho1 - For example, there was a case of a group actually singer a song about lucifer in a church in the 80s. It sounded really nice and sweet and everyone was swaying and saying "Amen". But the actually song was a praise to lucifer!!!
Another example is when a song might say that Sunday is the Sabbath day....The Bible is VERY clear on this. But most Christians don't even know this anymore because of the great emotion attached to a day instituted by man and not God.

@BlessedAfricanQueen my theory on why jackie is more prominently heard without twinkie is because Karen was doing most of the leading and dorinda had started preaching more often so she would wear her voice. So the harmony that really need to be brung out was good for jackies voice cuz her voice is more husky than her sisters.

This is classic Clark Sisters. 1978 is when this song was released. Rev James Cleveland recorded 4 years later with his church choir, and Donald Vails recorded with his choir the same year. Maybe not only should we being singing this song, but also ask our Lord to give us a praying spirit. Sing Clark Sisters.

Heard this song today but the choir it's so beautiful, Twinkie Clark is an anointed musical composer. The Clark Sisters deserve all the respect, they made gospel music what it is.

It's funny how songs will bring back a memory in one's life. I listened to this the other day, and it took me back to my childhood...and how I wanted our Jr. Choir @ church to sing it! This is a favorite of mine...thanks for the memories.
