Very impressive! I agree with 'errantbard'; CGI still doesn't look as good or 'real.' Jackson's "Kong" came close, however. I still prefer "Planet of the Apes" (all of them) and "Kong '76" as far as ape stuff goes.

I'll probably buy your 'How-To" DVD soon. I've always wanted to dabble with animatronics. I know i don't have the patience, skill or desire to get in too deep.

What do you mean fix the expressions? it's being puppeteered in real time with radio control. It's just a test shoot. Anyway it's not meant to be realistic, it's a project I did as a student when I was 19 years old to learn basic animatronics. Go bug somewhere else.
