For a good budget vocal booth trick, I used to do way back...
Build a 1'x1' box and place egg crate foam or any kind of thick thick insulation inside it. Mount the box on a cymbal stand and place in front of the microphone.
That's not in my studio. My PC is so friggin' loud, using that for music would be a bad idea. The Mac is only audible if your ear is right on the front of it.
How many tracks can u record at once with that mixer?

I've been using Mac's for music for several years now.
Started with GarageBand and moved on to Logic Studio.
