Climax was actually a studio group. Sonny Geraci is the only genuine part of the ensemble--the rest of the band in the video is just for show. And, of course, he's just lipsyncing the record. One of my favorite songs (and one of the prettiest) of all time. If you can ever find this album (I found my copy in 1974 for 50 cents in the discount rack at a Cleveland drugstore) the rest of the songs on it are just as terrific.
A singing house cat.... That is very funny... of course I wonder what your baggy pants,, underwear pulled up to your midrift... will look like in 40 years from today.......... now that funny.
@noxomox really a very nauseating looking group with a lead singer in an outfit somewhere between disgusting, aunty's hand-me-downs, and salvation army. disgusting
@ConservativeAnthem Whats the deal with you? Sounds like you have a personal vendetta against these guys. Thats the way they dressed in 1972,and to address your other comment about the song, You think that you can write something better than this? This song only sold over a million copies, not bad for a "cheesie song". Your probably a young guy into this hip-hop bullshit thats out today. Songs (if you want to even call them that) that have absolutly no melody at all.
There's no doubt this is a classic! No one that lived in the 70's can forget this song - and Sonny still sounds just as good! Just saw him last week performing in Florida. He is a truly nice guy !!
Men were inspired to write and perform songs like this, from their hearts, before feminism turned women into narcissistic, misandric monsters. Those were the days.
This song was a hit in the early 70's while I was serving on a long tour with the military overseas. I send a copy to my girlfriend back in the USA. Of course, this eventually became "our song." Still brings back bittersweet memories of those times, and my eventual return to her arms.
To Mike...I miss you. Gone but never forgotten. I lost my letters from you in a house fire. Still have the pics of you. Guess they will go with me when I pass. Hope that will not be for a long time. We had some great times. Love you always.
Great song.Thanks. I've always thought that the back ground singers in this are just as equal as Sonny is. Does anyone know who the Girl back ground singers are that make this such a great song?

This was the theme song for our first college ROTC military ball. Since it was our first year in existince there were just a few of us. But from that few would come, two generals. Great job Jim and Bruce.
When my wife and I met, this song was all over the charts, and the radio. We chose it as our own personal song, and did our first dance to it at our wedding. We met in the ninth grade, and our relationship sadly ended after 14 years. When ever I hear this song, I know a piece of me will always love her. My second marriage has fared much better. 26 years and counting. Still, this song tugs at my heartstrings...
Spring & Summer of '72, KHJ LA BOSS Radio 930, AM--played this about every 10 minutes, & I never--ever, tired of hearing it. What times they were. Wolfsky9, Almost 65 y/o.
My first true love was my Glen or "angel babe"-we met when I was 16 and he was 15 and had three marvelous years together before I went away to college and life drew us apart. Glen died twenty-one years ago and this song and so many others from the 60's and 70's echo that lost love. Miss you so much until we meet in heaven--LUV you forever babe.....
How many of us growing up through our teen years had songs that marked our relationships? This may have been the most used song in that regard. Great vocals with such meaning. This was the song for me and Debbie- first girl who really grabbed my heart! To be 14 again,
As you may have figured it out 1972 is the best year of my life for that was the year I met my baby Gerald, but I have to wait for God to call me home before I can be with him again....
Im getting married to this song, but i need this clip - has anyone got it ?????
I need a good sharp clip of it. I can't get it anywhere - no wonder.
I'v tried Sonny's manager but nothing yet after 3 months. I know there probly busy etc. Hope they get back, its just the best song for a wedding dance.

@scoobydoo4689 I agree my child hood in the 1990s was so much easier then child hood today. Have you noticed how kids are more intrested in computers and mobile phones then climbing trees and other out door stuff.
