  • This song was 40 years ago no.4 in the world charts #climax

  • Comment removed

  • What a hottie! Had to make my computer full screen.

  • Climax was actually a studio group. Sonny Geraci is the only genuine part of the ensemble--the rest of the band in the video is just for show. And, of course, he's just lipsyncing the record. One of my favorite songs (and one of the prettiest) of all time. If you can ever find this album (I found my copy in 1974 for 50 cents in the discount rack at a Cleveland drugstore) the rest of the songs on it are just as terrific.

  • I swear when the lead singer started singing I couldn't believe how much he resembled Karen Carpenter. Anyone else see what I am seeing?

  • A singing house cat.... That is very funny... of course I wonder what your baggy pants,, underwear pulled up to your midrift... will look like in 40 years from today.......... now that funny.

  • This song was no.9 in the world charts 40 years ago #climax

  • I'm only here because of They Might Be Giants.

  • stewartx5~love that story, man

  • I like their clothes.

  • LOVE Climax!!!! Precious & Few brings back so many memories, great memories!

  • ugghhhhhh....cheesiest song ever and the guy is like a runaway math nerd...

  • Love that. Sing

  • 1972 was a great year for music! This is one of the most beautiful love songs ever made.

  • i love my ex lisa treganowan i would give my left nut to get her love back

  • This is so BEAUTIFUL...! Thank You!

  • loved this song until i saw the visual . . . . :(

  • @noxomox really a very nauseating looking group with a lead singer in an outfit somewhere between disgusting, aunty's hand-me-downs, and salvation army. disgusting

  • @ConservativeAnthem plus he sounds and looks like a house-cat trained to sing. puke

  • @ConservativeAnthem Whats the deal with you? Sounds like you have a personal vendetta against these guys. Thats the way they dressed in 1972,and to address your other comment about the song, You think that you can write something better than this? This song only sold over a million copies, not bad for a "cheesie song". Your probably a young guy into this hip-hop bullshit thats out today. Songs (if you want to even call them that) that have absolutly no melody at all.

  • one of my favorite songs all time without a doubt.

  • I want the singers outfit and I`m going to the mall shopping in it :)

kidding I love this song =]

  • There's no doubt this is a classic! No one that lived in the 70's can forget this song - and Sonny still sounds just as good! Just saw him last week performing in Florida. He is a truly nice guy !!

  • When I hear this song, it's always Music to my ears! Thanks for posting one of the most beautiful songs ever!

  • I was in the 7th grade when this was released. Use to sing it with my then girlfriend...still love this song...

  • Thank you so much for the effort to upload this song. I enjoyed listening..

  • 11 years ago when my hair was still long, I had it cut into an early 70's shag...best haircut I ever had!!!

  • Men were inspired to write and perform songs like this, from their hearts, before feminism turned women into narcissistic, misandric monsters. Those were the days.

  • This song was a hit in the early 70's while I was serving on a long tour with the military overseas. I send a copy to my girlfriend back in the USA. Of course, this eventually became "our song." Still brings back bittersweet memories of those times, and my eventual return to her arms.

  • What a beautiful song.

  • Like Sonny better with this long hair & outfit, "bell bottoms" yeah!!!

  • Great song by a great group. Brings back good Jr. High memories. Thanks for posting it. Love the Brooks Bros. commercial !

  • the early 70s Music's golden age IMO.

  • To Mike...I miss you. Gone but never forgotten. I lost my letters from you in a house fire. Still have the pics of you. Guess they will go with me when I pass. Hope that will not be for a long time. We had some great times. Love you always.

  • Now you know where Paul Stanley [Kiss] was then. Oh wait That's Me.Also Prety Sure,Its Hal Blaine playing Drum's..

  • @DYNODRUM Haha are you sayin that Sonny Geraci looks like Paul Stanley?

  • Reminds me of hot summer nights riding around with my little sweetie. Windows down listening to these greats on 8 track tapes.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SONNY ! This song was out when me and mine

were getting together. Will always cherish this song.

  • Great song.Thanks. I've always thought that the back ground singers in this are just as equal as Sonny is. Does anyone know who the Girl back ground singers are that make this such a great song?

  • This song always impressed me as a ripoff of "Cherish" by The Association, and much too sappy to enjoy listening to. Sorry.

  • Ah, this is my loving husband singing to me and we have been blessed for over 30 years of Blessed Love.. Thank you so for this Loving Song <3 <3 :-)

  • The Outsiders Charted with "Time Won't Let Me", "Respectable" and "Girl In Love".

  • @ed917751 I think you said it - music IS the time machine that transports us across the years, and wakes up our sleeping memories.

  • Sonny Geraci was never with Survivor or Ides of March, not sure where TheElhombre1 got that information. Geraci was lead singer of the Outsiders who had one big hit "Time Won't Let Me". So he was a two-time one hit wonder...

  • ach du scheisse

    wasn das fürn ei

  • i met the drummer of this, today in a noodle shop. cool guy but sadly he doesnt play session so much anymore

  • More pride of Cleveland!

  • this was the song I just gave to my wife of 31 years with a 2012 mrecedes E 550 AMG she loved it love is the greatest thing if you make it work BG

  • This song always reminded me of the theme from the Mary Tyler Moore show.

So I always pictured the lead singer of this song as looking like Ted from the newsroom. lol I wasn't even close. lol

  • Singer went on to be the vocalist with Survivor. "Eye of the Tiger". Had previously been in IDES OF MARCH who had a hit with "VEHICLE".

  • This was the theme song for our first college ROTC military ball. Since it was our first year in existince there were just a few of us. But from that few would come, two generals. Great job Jim and Bruce.

  • When my wife and I met, this song was all over the charts, and the radio. We chose it as our own personal song, and did our first dance to it at our wedding. We met in the ninth grade, and our relationship sadly ended after 14 years. When ever I hear this song, I know a piece of me will always love her. My second marriage has fared much better. 26 years and counting. Still, this song tugs at my heartstrings...

  • Spring & Summer of '72, KHJ LA BOSS Radio 930, AM--played this about every 10 minutes, & I never--ever, tired of hearing it. What times they were. Wolfsky9, Almost 65 y/o.

  • Isn't that Vin Diesel with hair? I want that shirt!!!

  • God, those pants!

  • I always thought this was Alan Thicke.....LOL

  • i love love this song...i will love this song forever!BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • My first true love was my Glen or "angel babe"-we met when I was 16 and he was 15 and had three marvelous years together before I went away to college and life drew us apart. Glen died twenty-one years ago and this song and so many others from the 60's and 70's echo that lost love. Miss you so much until we meet in heaven--LUV you forever babe.....

  • How many of us growing up through our teen years had songs that marked our relationships? This may have been the most used song in that regard. Great vocals with such meaning. This was the song for me and Debbie- first girl who really grabbed my heart! To be 14 again,

  • As you may have figured it out 1972 is the best year of my life for that was the year I met my baby Gerald, but I have to wait for God to call me home before I can be with him again....

  • I don't think there's anybody that at one time or another in their life, can't relate to this song. That's what a classic is.

  • Im getting married to this song, but i need this clip - has anyone got it ?????

I need a good sharp clip of it. I can't get it anywhere - no wonder.

I'v tried Sonny's manager but nothing yet after 3 months. I know there probly busy etc. Hope they get back, its just the best song for a wedding dance.

    dwsnare@iprimus.com.au

  • YOU'VE BEEN CLIMAX'D! (It's a Rick Roll with extra sappiness!)

  • Truly beautiful..........the fact that it still gets decent radio play almost 40 years later says it all.

  • like this retro music reminds my younger years in 70 s back then still lad thats wht its precious and few love this song saludo

  • My husband and my song...love and miss you baby RIP

  • This is one of my old time classics, brings back so many great memories

  • I love this song. My wife and I chose this as "our" song may she rest in peace.

    Thank you for posting

  • I don't think this is a sappy ballad at all: You did good, boys!

  • I do like this song as well, but haven't heard it for many years.

  • LOL I was 7 when this came out. It's been ear worming me, but I can't remember the last time I heard it. Maybe it will go away now that I recall how bad it is.

  • There is no way they could ever perform this string acompanied song live and sound the least bit good, so thanks for dubbing it.

  • I drove my Mom crazy crying over crushes and lost loves when I was a kid, gorgeous song.....

  • Mine and my husbands song,,,sweet memories, love you always Bobby. RIP

  • @1951590 So saddened by your loss, what a touching tribute to Bobby. If this was your song, I know you two shared some special times together.

  • What a babe!

  • @trippinonnostalgia

    Sonny is still gorgeous!

  • @Babyhowdy233 Really? I'm going to have to check out some pics, somewhere, hee. Yeah, what a cutie...

  • PLLeeeeeeeeeeeze,

    i neeed to know.

  • We all knew this was bubblegum pop when it came out. Most of us secretly enjoyed it anyway... plus it was good for hug and squeeze dancing.

  • @jiminlhc "Today's pop is tomorrow's avant-garde" (I didn't write that, but I forget who did. Let us pray that it's true!)

  • Easily one of the most beautiful songs ever written/recorded.

  • WONDERFUL!!!!

  • Gosh, I was born a year after this song was created . It is so touching that when I hear it , it makes me weep. Sigh......

  • HI DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET A COPY OF THIS CLIP.

I'D REALLY LIKE IT FOR MY WEDDING DANCE.

HAPPY TO PAY COSTS AND TIME.

    THANKS

    JOHN - SYDNEY AUST.

  • I love this song! The first love of my life use to sing this to me.

I dedicate this song to him, and where ever he is, he will always

    be remembered :)

  • Respond to this video... Your comments will be removed by tomorrow. You can either remove them or I will.

  • @adiostraitorobama I not even going to try an argue with someone who doesn't knows anything about music.

  • Just an all time great. They do not perform songs like this today. Most songs today are junk and you can not understand the words.

  • The era was great except for the hair!

  • the 70's a happy place,time machine? i'm there,man ! i miss that era.

  • @ganzillamusic YOU WOULDN'T KNOW A GIG IF IT BIT YOU IN THE ASS !!

  • @JohnHolmesFukYoMama

I wasn't married in 1972 so I guess you are mistaken. Make sure you stay on your meds, they're obviously doing a world of good. Have a nice life!

  • @JohnHolmesFukYoMama John Holmes, I just flagged you for spam and voted thumbs down on you, which I will do whenever I see your posts. Michael C. McHugh

  • @ganzillamusic HEY FOOL, I HEARD SOME OF YOUR MUSIC,THANK GOD NOBODY IS ABLE TO HEAR IT !!! WHY IS IT THAT THE UNTALENTED ASSHOLES HAVE THE BIGGEST MOUTHS ??

  • @billio0104 Thank you so much for your highly sophisticated response. Obviously you are a true music connoisseur. Have a nice day!

  • @ganzillamusic Are your gigs better than your put-downs? Your put-downs are typical YouTube stuff. Get creative.

  • @billio0104 You're doing an excellent job of showing everyone what an idiot you are.

  • @AlphonsoTheLearned HEY ALPHONSO , LEARNED THIS !! YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER PSEUDO INTELLECT WHO FEELS POWER BEING ANONYMOUS GO BEAT YOUR WIFE AND FEEL MORE POWER

  • @ganzillamusic We thank our lucky stars that we never had to listen to you play this beautiful song.

  • @nightfawn27 Opinions vary. Good luck with all your musical endeavors!

  • This beautiful song entered my life during a romantic encounter with Kitty way back in the '70s....we finally married & are eternally happy..............

  • wow... i thought this was made in the late 70s .

  • @chyman Climax was a band formed in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, most noted for their 1971/72 hit song "Precious and Few," which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. This disc sold over one million copies, and received a gold disc awarded by the R.I.A.A. on 21 February 1972 Taken from Wikipedia

  • thumbs up if this should be or was your graduation song :)

  • @davidjtull You are so right...for some reason I have always quoted Sonny Geraci as singing with Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders who sang "The Game of Love". Even after I'd hear Geraci's name associated with the Outsiders over the years I still slip occasionally..

"Time wont let me" and "Precious and Few" are completely different type songs though...always amazed me.

  • Great love song, even better memories!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks

  • @blondiern56 your most welcome and Thank you for your comment. Cindy

  • he was lead singer for The Outsiders. Time Won't let me was a big hit for them. But Bend Me, Shape Me was sung by the American Breed.

  • @youngwins7 "Bend Me, Shape Me" is a song written by Scott English and Larry Weiss. It was first recorded by The Outsiders as a track on their album The Outsiders In in 1966. The best known version of the song is the 1967 single released by The American Breed that peaked at #5 in the US in early 1968.

  • how i wish we could turn back time and you are welcome

  • @scoobydoo4689 I agree with that sentiment. Someone really needs to buld a time machine.

  • Comment removed

  • @scoobydoo4689 I agree my child hood in the 1990s was so much easier then child hood today. Have you noticed how kids are more intrested in computers and mobile phones then climbing trees and other out door stuff. Also how like they are put under pressure the be in fashion all the time and wear make up at the age of like 8. When I was younger we didn't give a crap how we looked.

  • @erehgregrhegrhegr We wore Levi's that cost 10 dollars a pair. (i.e., in the '70s).

  • @scoobydoo4689 Oh how I wish we could turn back time!!! Amen to that!!! When you figure out a way to turn back time to Beautiful music like this, please let us know. We'll all be better off with classics like this on the radio.

  • i remember I was 10 when this song cam e out ,nothing like when i was growing up

  • @scoobydoo4689 Amen to that friend! I was 8 when it came out, and it was great hearing it on the radio on a regular basis with other beautiful music. Brings back some nice memories.

  • Nice to find this again..

  • Lead singer Sonny Geraci was also the lead singer for a group called: The Mind Benders years before this. They sang: Bend me, Shape me and Time wont let me.

  • @ekocentric Ah yes I remember those well. Thanks for the info. Cindy

  • @nightfawn27 In July of 1990, my brother had about four months left in the army. Unfortunately for him, he was ordered to be one of the first U.S. g.i.'s to serve in Desert Storm.

I'll never forget how happy he was when I sent him a box of homemade cookies and a homemade cassette with all of his favorite hits. This one was the first one on side A.

As a veteran myself this song'll always mean a lot to me cause it was like his good luck charm when he slept inside his Tomahawk tank some nights.
