According to the Super Mario Bros. instruction manual, the question blocks are the petrified corpses of the toads who fell victim to Bowser's black magic. I think that's what the title screen might be a reference to.

I actually think the game concept is much better served with the "other nonsense" type of puzzle. Like this, it's just a puzzle game with unnecessary cruelty. The original game and its predecessor basked in their inanity, but also had puzzles that tried to make you think outside the box. Which is not something you get very often.

... Of course, I've watched like 2 minutes of this video so far so mweep.

@N0Lif3 Yeah, that's a consequence of Let's Playing. Did you ever try recording yourself commenting on a game while you're playing it? I did. Your skill at the game itself and ESPECIALLY puzzle solving is reduced dramatically, so it's rather normal that the viewers solve the puzzles faster than raocow.
