yup, and you've got to add to it, it's a 2.3 litre 4 with a 3-spd auto, it isn't actually bad.

Tempo's don't have a 1.8L. They have either the 2.3L or 3.0L

Yeah, the paper work isn't right. Sorry to say. Unless it's had the engine changed and they put a smaller one in. But if not, it's a 2.3L 4cyl. Ford only made one two 4cyl for the tempo and both are 2.3L and the V6 is a 3.0L. Just look up there history. ;)

giannial is right. The smallest engine is the 2.3L inline 4 pushrod POS engine.

lol the 2.3 does have to do with how much oil it holds its the displacement or volume all the cylinders combined hold.

The 92 to 94 had an optional 3.0L vulcan V6. Same as in the taurus. Ford had to change the engine a little so it would fit in the tempo. It's actually a better engine for the tempos

I have a 1992 Tempo LX with a 3.0L V6. I have a vid of it going from 0-115 MPH but its too big for here. I'm going to try to shoot another one that doesnt include all the driving around so it'll fit. Anyway, glad to see somebody having as much fun with their Tempo as I do!
