I think the harder drugs should be more difficult to get, which would make a small black market for users who can't get them. But as education of drugs increases, and we see hard-users get treated as sick instead of criminals usage among teens and adults would decrease.

I've smoked weed for 3 years now and I go to the gym 4 times a week, I graduated from high school, got accepted to collage and I AM not addicted to anything. All I do is smoke weed and that's it. All people are different and some just want an intense high and move on to other drugs because weed doesn't do the trick, I've seen it done many times before.
I've been around marijuana but until recently never had a desire to use it, but since having been diagnosed with chronic gout and degenerative disc disease and hearing form so many people that it helped them, my curiosity is piqued... I live in Nevada so I can get registered legally in the state. Though apparently Nevada's the most expensive state. :(

As someone who smokes weed and has done other drugs, the only gate way it has to you is exposes you to other drugs. And yet I started smoking BEFORE I started smoking weed. It's up to the person to try the other drugs, it was my choice to pop that first pill of E, my choice to take that first hit of acid, and MY choice to eat those mushrooms. Alcohol is more of a gateway drug than weed is.

They all first shot a gun at cans before hunting for animals. Some people that have hunted are also murderers in jail. The reason hard drug users do hard drugs is because they want to. Yes they started out with marijuana but they chose to move onto harder drugs. I know a lot of people that tryed it a couple times and that was it. Or that just smoke marijuana. Dont get me wrong ik people that do worse. But those people do everything. I think its all money related. It will be too hard to tax marijuana because there will be illegal sellers. plus the prices will drop so that an ounce of haze will be worth a nick.

@bobjoshilly, I agree, but I also think all drugs should be made legal. It's a hard concept to wrap around, sure. But it would destroy the illegal drug trade down to a fraction of what it once was. I think the harder drugs should be more difficult to get, which would make a small black market for users who can't get them. But as education of drugs increases, and we see hard-users get treated as sick instead of criminals usage among teens and adults would decrease.

But in fact, pot was not the first "drug" I tried, but today (and for many yrs.) it's asprin, advil(for back injury and arthritis) and pot. This makes the Gateway Effect true, but only on a small scale and only because of the prohibition itself causing the government not to take control and allowing dealers to make hard drugs more accessable.

I've smoked weed for 3 years now and I go to the gym 4 times a week, I graduated from high school, got accepted to collage and I AM not addicted to anything. All I do is smoke weed and that's it. All people are different and some just want an intense high and move on to other drugs because weed doesn't do the trick, I've seen it done many times before.

i have read the studies showing that most people who have used "hard" drugs (coke, heroin, meth etc) have also used marijuana, but what those studies fail to show you is that most people who use weed have never used harder drugs. As someone who smokes weed and has done other drugs, the only gate way it has to you is exposes you to other drugs. And yet I started smoking BEFORE I started smoking weed. It's up to the person to try the other drugs, it was my choice to pop that first pill of E, my choice to take that first hit of acid, and MY choice to eat those mushrooms. Alcohol is more of a gateway drug than weed is.

They all first shot a gun at cans before hunting for animals. Some people that have hunted are also murderers in jail. I've been to Amsterdam on the ny 2000, and I can assure you 5 out of 20 people that you pass by on the streets will offer you hard drugs by either whispering to you discretly "cocain, exctacy..." or "need drugs? I've got everytiong"... or letting you know in some other way that they got "what you need".
So just by that fact alone, I can assume that hard drug use in the Netherlands cannot be so low.

By grouping marijuana with other drugs like cocaine and heroin people are more likely to sway toward harder drugs because its been grouped into the drug culture.
