  • Wonderful place to live, all the charm of a coastal city and to have one of the best beaches in Italy. Lived on VIa Atratina long ago. Thanks for the images

  • You are so fortunate to have lived there. Thanks for the posting.

  • I'm a military brat! ha. my father was stationed there. its where I met my first love and we still remain in contact to this day. it was a wonderful experience living in another country and learning their way of life that is so different then ours. i'll go back again some day. it feels like i'm going home.

  • Thanks for the come-back. Have a great life!

  • I went to school in 1978-1980 in Gaeta. I miss it so much.

  • Wow, I would say you are lucky. I would love to spend a few years anyplace in Italy. Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • This is old Gaeta Area, u mess other side of Gaeta, serapo, fontania, ariana, monte orlando, montagna spaccata, this video explain a quarter of this city

  • Yes ... we didn't realize that we only saw the old section. After we posted the video we received many comments about the other parts of Geta ... opps we missed things. Unfortunately as we came off the SS we were directed to this section. Next time we will do a better job of researching the locations. Thanks for your comment.

  • Hi there, wunderful movie. I am Austrian but I live in Gaeta for a couple of weeks each year. My father in law lives there and it is always great!! No German tourists (like heaven on earth)

  • I miss Gaeta! I loved there for two wonderful years...

  • Oh how fortunate that you were there for a long time. We only spent a day. We hope to "live" in Italy for a while rather than "visit".

  • hey thanks for posting this video! i live in gaeta and it's awesome!! :)

  • Wow! I never even thought that Gaeta would be on Youtube. How wonderful! I used to live there- from 1983 to July 1985. My ex-husband was there on the Puget Sound. How I loved that place. I was "homesick" for it for years and still now yearn to visit it again. I intend to one day. I would even love to have my own apt there to stay. I used to live in Viale Colle San Agata, the blue and white slanted apts going towards Formia. I hope they are still there.

  • thanks for the video. my mom is from Formia, the next town over. She brought me back to Italy and showed me Gaeta and Formia. It's so beautiful and everyone knows each other there. My great great uncle is on the war memorial in Gaeta. last name is Capolino. friendliest town ever & awesome food.

  • Yeah, I can testify to the food ... especially some of the deserts. Isn't it fantastic to visit where you have family roots? We are from Corfinio in the Abruzzo region and never get tired of going back there. Have a great life and thanks for leaving a post.

  • I was stationed in Gaeta at the Detachment in 1987/1988. I worked in Security and patrolled all over Gaeta. I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to go back - I want to take my son (I'm on here under his name).

  • Well, I hope you do take him. Italy is simply fantastic ... as you know. Thanks for the post.

  • Thanks for the video. I was on a ship homeported there for six months back in 1975. The USS Little Rock. Lovely town full of warm and charming people. Beautiful scenery and great food. I hope to return there one day. Great memories. :)

  • Vicleaf, its nice to know someone else that knows how beautiful Gaeta is,I used to live in Via Independenza in 1978-80 known to the American sailors and English people as Piccolo Alley,a wonderful little place full of local produce, clothes, shoes etc and the people in Gaeta are lovely, you must visit it again Aldimarvp

  • Thank you, yes, I hope to spend a lot of time in Italy as soon as my wife retires and we can be there for more than two weeks at a time. We try to go at least once a year.

  • I know Gaeta very well. It's a great mid-size town where to live. Beautiful, scenic, with so many history and archaeology places to visit. The sea is beautiful and the food is delicious a mix of Neapolitan and Roman culinary tradition. The countryside on the mountains just few miles inland from Gaeta is absolutely gorgeous, very Mediterranean, with small villages on the hills and mountains to visit.

  • I have read so many great comments about Gaeta that next time I will set aside more than an afternoon to visit there. Thank you for your comment.

  • Aldimarvp, you have captured Gaeta as lovely as I remember,I wish I could live there again,if I win the lottery unless I get any offers (only over 50 need apply ha ha)many thanks once again
