  • thank you !

  • Alors j'ai une question. Je parle très bien anglais car je vis au Royaume uni. Et j'ai un probleme avec "often". Partout ou je vais en angleterre, les gens le prononce "often" (avec le T prononcé), j'ai donc posé la question et on m'a dit que c'était les américains qui le prononcait "ofen". Alors que dans votre exemple, vous semblez avoir l'accent British, vous dites "ofen", et écrivez Center (au lieu de Centre, si vous êtes britanique).

    Eclaircissez moi ...........

  • It's a good question, to be honest sometimes I say [often] and sometimes [ofen]! I see you live in Birmingham, my home town, and us Brummies do say 'often' with the t pronounced. I don't think that it's only Americans who don't pronounce the t, it may be a question of region, background or social class. As for 'center' you're right, it should be 'centre' in British English, but American English is more common today than British, so I think learners should know this spelling.
