dude those big sticks are actually pretty sweet! it took me a while to buy into it, but now i love it. its totally chill and you can go way farther than pushing and it feels a lot better than using your legs. using it as a break pretty much saved my life on a couple steep canyon runs

I made one, just get a bamboo chute, as or taller then you. Then go to a sports place, get a lacrosse butt (A little rubber end cap), and stick in on using super glue.
