Its processor is only running at 528mhz instead of desires 1ghz. So even though it may be marketed as a mini desire it doesnt run quite as fast. However still a capable lillte smartphone, which is far enough if you dont want to capture hd video or play 3d games. Its proberly gonna be alot cheaper too.

You'd have to compare the iPhone with the HTC Desire or HTC HD2 (both about $650). Both of those two are, if you ask me, better than the iPhone. But that's really just a personal thing if you like the iPhone or the HTC phones better, atleast in my opinion.
