Yes, it does say in the bible that "Marriage is between a man and a woman" but it also says to love everyone. So for the Christians that look down on people for being gay, you should really think a bit more about what you're doing. These peoples' lifestyle choices are not for you to judge or to protest or to hate. You follow your own beliefs, and just let them follow theirs. Homophobia is born out of fear, misunderstanding, and being raised to believe that anything besides and heterosexual relationship is wrong. Like he said, look at slavery- the blacks were feared, misunderstood, and children were raised to believe that the color of their skin was wrong. And as for the bible comment; according to the bible, it is also wrong to be raped and the victim should be stoned to death. Would you do that to a woman now? Religion is no excuse for being close-minded and cruel.

Yeah, back to my last comment on the choice thing. I've had a few friends or know a few people who switched from bisexuality to homosexuality quite a few times. Some people who I've known choose it because they don't trust the other gender or have had bad experiences. (Not all of them just a few) Explaineth?

This is the way I see it. Being Christian, I do not think it is 'right'. But not everyone has this belief, and is religious freedom not a right in our country? We can't exactly tell people who to love, just as we can't just decide everyone has to start being a Buddhist. And we cant hate people for doing something different. Hate the sin, not the sinner. @guleed13 Personally, I'd much rather have 2 loving mothers or 2 loving fathers than be all alone with no family. I have plenty of friends who grew up with only a mother or with only a father, and they turned out just fine. So I'm sure having two moms or dads wouldn't be any different.

Here is how i look at it. I am a christian, so i dont think that its right to be gay. However, for all of you who say that gays go to hell, you dont know that. does the bible not say that god doesnt view one sin as kindly as another. For instance, since i am a christian, i believe that sex outside of marriage is just as bad as gay marriage. @JesusLuvsU75 it may not nessessarily be a god who made it happen, but i dont think theres any way to prove or disprove god's existance, so being agnostic is probably the most open minded way of thinking (at least in my case, maybe not in everyone's case though, since we're all different)
whether i believe in god or doesnt affect the lives of anyone else, and neither should someones sexuality. its their choice in whether they want ppl to know it, and we have no right to judge

Same with close friends- you all affect each other. Myself, gay ppl should be allowed to do what they want. It's fine with me. But they are trying their best to affect other ppl's lives. They can have legal contracts to commit to each other without calling it marriage. But they want to affect the whole country

@JesusLuvsU75 actually, my religious views werent really affected that much by my parents, because when i was younger, i went to sunday school every week (i didnt really have a choice, because my parents went to church every week) but when i started high school, around that time i started thinking about what i believed in, and after a lot of work done in religious studies, i came to the conclusion that gods existance couldnt be proved or disproved
