I'm from Canada, saw a race down there once... LOVED it, just happened to drive by, so we popped in and had a BLAST... the girl who won the race was eating a red pepper I believe it was, just like an apple after the race... ha

This is what real racin is all about. The guy who JUMPS out of his car to go make sure the drive who got hit is ok. You won't find that in NASCAR or at the Speedrome

These guys suck at figure 8 racing. they could never keep up with Indiana boys. If you think you can come on down to Indianapolis in september for the 3 hour WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Winner gets 20,000 dollars.

Thank you for your opinion and wonderful comments. I agree that the racing at the Speedrome can be crazy and fun to watch, but I can't get into that type of Figure-8 car as much. I'm more of a stock car fan. I suppose you like NASCAR too.

This is the type of guy that doesn't have a place in Figure 8 racing. This type of guy has no respect for where figure 8 racing started, and the reason that all the cars are expensive space ships now.

I think that happened before he was at Raceway last year. I remember hearing about it. They recovered the jet car and of course checked it over very good.

This is ok I guess, but the cars at the Indianapolis Speedrome are faster and have been compared to rocket ships. Home of figure-8 racing, the Speedrome.

Figure-8 racing is fun with any type of cars. I'd just hate to wreck a Speedrome car. Some of the coolest figure-8 racing I've seen is in central Iowa on the little dirt tracks.

I shudder when I watch figure 8 racing ,I had an accident with a rotary hoe and spent 5 months in hospital,lost one leg ,nearly both,but that's nothing compared with the injuries from having a bad car crash.I 've met people who are in wheelchairs and burn victims from car crashes.

I'm amazed at figure 8 racing,I've only ever seen it on YouTube.I live in France and it won't ever happen here.I wonder if the the drivers have families,for example kids they see often.What's the prize money like ?

Ihatefundaentalism: yes, the drivers have wives, kids, families etc. The prize money varies depending on the track, and the car used. some figure 8 shows pay as much as 20 thousand to win at national events, to as low as 150 dollars.

Dan McCarthy. I don't know if I could've passed him but after the wreck in the X, his car died that gave me the lead. He was pretty crazy in this race.

We are going about 50-60 through the X so it kinda hurts when you get hit. The car that got hit spun up onto the light pole mound and made so much dust they couldn't see if the car was still on the wheels.

Friday night was great fun. What's better then Cheerleaders, beverages, and destruction? That last figure 8 kept you on the edge of your seat. Then, to end the night, the Green Mamba's jet engine MELTED what looked like a retired police '95 caprice.
