In relation to some early comments, the Spotless Rose metaphorically speaking is Jesus, not Mary - she's the tender root that the Rose is sprung from! And of course it was Jesus, not Mary, whose coming was 'foreshown' by the 'ancient seers', being from the line of Jesse, etc. Can quite understand the confusion though, with roses perhaps having more female than male connotations these days... Hope this helps! An exquisite piece of composition.
bar 26 " bare__" maybe a little flat, and the soloist definetly keeps to the underside of the top Eflats, but generally, even for professional standards i say he is spot on tuning-wise
@Athrenad I don't know what you're talking about - I have an excellent ear for music, and I can't hear the soloist going flat at all. Obviously he produces a nice rich tone, and that, like all musical tones other than pure sine waves, is a combination of lots of different harmonics. Sometimes certain of the harmonics become accentuated, and although, even then, a good ear will hear that he hasn't gone flat, even then, it might be possible for this to confuse some people. I enjoyed this a lot.

There were some wrong notes song by the soloist. But that didn't take away from the beauty of the phrase. It was very well done.

Great recording, although I do find the tenor text underlay at 2:36 quite amusing!

I love the baritone solo. It was amazing, in it's way of showing the baritone range and voice quality.

The Spotless Rose is Mary herself, not one of her body parts.

I don't mean to sound immature, but in this song are they talking about Mary's vagina? A spotless rose?

The last note in the 7/8 bar in the alto line should be an E natural, not an F sharp.

This is a very lovely song, and it's awesome to be able to follow along. Thanks for uploading!
