This show must've really fallen through the cracks for there not to be too much of it out there; not a lot of clips on YouTube, and NO DVD's (that I know of). Did that many people sleep on it? I wish I could remember some of the songs the kids would sing in Spanish toward the end of each episode.
I miss this show too. I watched it on PBS for years back in the good old 1970's. Is it on DVD yet? I hope so because I will buy it if they ever have it.
This was the show that taught me how to speak some Spanish in the 70s! A decade later, I visited Europe for the first time. I was stunned to learn that most people in the world speak more than one language. We Americans have much to learn about the appreciation of multiple cultures.
GREAT 70s flashback, and of a show that hasn't been seen in over 25 years!
For you 'Star Trek' fans, Mr. Henriques appeared in 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country' as the Romulan ambassador Nanclus, as well as "Portal 63" in the ST:TNG episode 'The Last Outpost' (the one in which the Ferengi made their debut).
Any chance you've got more clips from 'Villa Alegre' to share? We'd CERTAINLY appreciate it! Thanks!
I remember a Mimo skit where he's trying to read under a lightbulb and it will only light when the fan turns charging the bulb so it lights up. So there's little wind to to turn the fan so he has to keep getting up to turn the fan himself..I hope someone uploads that one someday...
My god!!! that was a real flashback! Thank you sooooo much. Could you PLEASE post more content of this series? Its not easy to find stuff of it. Once again THNX!!
Look here
fuzzymemories.tv and then in the keyword search blank type villa alegre, and it has the opening sequence (second one)
