Love Purcell! Esp. Faerie Queen. Bach and Handel are the icons of Baroque, but anyone who is not familiar with Purcell, Telemann and Scarlotti are truly missing out on some very beautiful and well composed music.
I justs discovered this composer tonite on you tube! I LOVE his music. Thanks for airing. You tube is fabulous. Leave it alone Obama. It doesn't need fixing!!!
I have been searching for this a year!! i listened to this an a radio i think,,,, and ever since, i have been trying to find it,,, and i think this is it!!!!!!!
Beautiful, what lovely resonant voices that touch my soul. Purcell must have heard the voices of angels in heaven, whilst on earth, to translate such beauty to audible human sound.
Assemble those cannons , lads.

Will I become a famous musician if I eat that? Tell me because I'm an aspiring artist. Does that inspire?

@yamiyugikun John Blow composed a lovely "Ode on the Death of Mr. Henry Purcell". Its lyric (by Dryden) ends:
The Heav'nly Quire, who heard his Notes from high,
Let down the Scale of Musick from the Sky:
They handed him along,
And all the way He taught, and all the way they Sung.
Ye Brethren of the Lyre, and tunefull Voice,
Lament his lott: but at your own rejoyce.
Now live secure and linger out your days,
The Gods are pleas'd alone with Purcell's Layes,
Nor know to mend their Choice.

@yamiyugikun And he joined the angels in heaven, all too soon. His gain, our loss!
