  • We also share erv's with rats and mice.

  • I know this is all true but I can't take it seriusly becaus of the music.

  • Aw man why do you only have two vids on your channel? :c

Make more!! These two were awesome!

  • you should debunk sweetmikser video about erv's

  • I find your opinion on this to be quite interesting. If what you say is correct, than there is nothing to stop us from simply adding genetic material that we have designed to carry out a specific function - much like we do now with viral vectors and with plasmid DNA.

  • Well, I shouldn't say "nothing" because there is the great challenge of delivering this new genetic material to some if not all cells of the body. Now that I've mentioned this obstacle, I'd also be interested to hear your thoughts on such an endeavor, as well as the project of engineered genes.

  • What would happen if all the nucleotides that are not regulators or genes were removed? Would functional stability remain, or would this upset some delicate balanced that's been maintained by their presence there?

  • " The result is that they accumulate deactivating mutations."

Indeed. Wiki tells me 5-8% (ref:3) of the human genome is made up of ERV's. This is a goldmine of potential evolutionary evidence. I expect to hear more and more about this as we continue to decode the genomes of other species.

  • Did you also create some of the artwork as well as putting it all together in a movie? The cladograms and cell animations and so forth?

Question...(you may have answered this, but I'm still reading and rereading your material so I may have missed it)...

Are ERVs suspect in the cause of some hereditary disease? Cancer? Or are they typically benign, acting as little more than markers. Part of the 'junk' as it were.

  • What an excellent set of videos. These have top end production value and I'm very impressed with your hard work. I'd been reading up on ERVs, trying to grab information from all these different sources and here I find them all collected and presented to me in an easy to understand video. Thank you for your work!

And to top it all off you have your wonderful website in the sidebar showing source material and slides. LOL - super!

  • First tell me, what does it take to falsify the argument, what kind of evidence would make you change your mind????

  • there is only one problem with ERVs that the author forgot to mention

ERVs DO NOT MATCH THE PHALOGENETIC TREE. Mamals do not share ERVs with other classes (as we would expect if evolution where true) and we do find ERVs in incorrect places, for example we find a specific ERV in chimps and gorillas but not in humans, or in monkeys chimps and gorillas but not in humans and orangutans etc

  • I have given you a few hints here but there is a whole lot more to discover on your own i cannot do the work for you so God bless you and help you find Him! : )

  • Oh, forgive me, the whole chapter 53 was in the Book of Isaiah where it depicts so well what Messiah would go thru for you and me but also fascinating is found in Isaiah 7:14 where the virgin birth is announced and in Isaiah 9:6 we are given an image of the coming Theocracy, the Book of Daniel is also fascinating with events happening today in Chap 2 and 7 and Ezekiel and the rebuilding of a 3rd temple in Jerusalem according to the Jewishtempleinstitute...

  • If you want a solid court case, there is Simon Greenleaf and contemporary Josh Macdowell who does a wonderful job in apologetics.

  • Second, how do you get 365 prophecies from the OT to be fulfilled with 100% acuracy during the 1st visit of Jesus Christ from the place of birth, manner of birth, manner of death, betrayal and how would you explain that someone would go and fulfill all 365 of them to the point of death? Would you die for a lie? I doubt it...now connect the dots...

  • The Lee Strobel argument? Really? 1: Who said they knew it was a lie? 2: Again, other than the bible, what is the evidence that any non vague non self fulfilling prophecy was fulfilled?

  • Tell me smart and free thinker you, how is it possible to have 66 books penned by 40 guys, written during a 1500 yrs span, in 3 languages(Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek) in many places(Rome, Jerusalem, Patmos Island, Ephesus, Thessalonica, Corinth, etc) by guys of all walks of life(A physician, tax collector, fishermen, Law specialist, prophets, Shepherds) and having one thing in common, all pointing towards Jesus Christ?

  • Other than the bible, what's the evidence that the bible was written over a 1500 year span by 40 people? I can write a book right now about any magical being you want and claim in it that it was written by 1,000 people and have perfect consistency throughout

  • The Septuagint which dates to 300 BC, the Dead Sea scrolls which date to 150-200 BC, 92000 quotes from the early church fathers able to rebuild the NT except for 3 verses and that before 100 AD, 10000 codex and Latin vulgates, sources hostile to Christ confirming His life, death and resurrection in the secular Roman world, more than 500 archeological sites in Israel alone confirming names in the OT and place names in the OT,

  • You're still not getting into any extra-biblical evidence. Anyone can write a story based on previous works and have consistency, and in the biblical line there's not a lot of that. The three nearly complete works supposedly from the Septuagint don't coincide

  • You are uninformed when it comes to the skilful design of the Bible, how is it possible to hide a prophecy about the Messiah inside the meanings of the names of the 10 first generations found in Genesis 5, 2448 years before Christ? Or the one in Genesis 3:14, 4004 years before Christ? Or in the Messianic psalm 22, 1000 years before Christ or the whole chapter 53, 750 years BC? 365 of them for His 1st visit but 1845 for His second one soon, is He coming back for you?

  • There is the work of Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius, The Babylonian Talmud, Josephus, and the letter of Mara Bar-Serapion. These are sources that are outside the Biblical account

  • @Serge1965

I was curious about the birth of Jesus. Did Joseph go to Bethlehem from Galilee for the census and return to Nazareth after (as explained in Luke) or did he live in Bethlehem and flee to Egypt because of Herod only to go to Nazareth (instead of returning to Bethlehem) after because Herod's son was the new ruler as explained by Matthew.

  • Dear Serge:

0.) Create a supersaturated solution of sugar or of salt.

1.) Let it cool a lot, then introduce a thread or a stick.

2.) Leave it alone, a few hours or days, depending on temperature.

3.) You should see a bunch of transparent crystals on the thread or the stick.

Those crystals are surely more ordered than the soluble molecules swimming around in the water were...surely you believe that God must have put them there, presumably using tiny, tiny tweezers?

  • Dear obviously seduced, what you seem to forget here is that yoiu should reread yourself and see your own hand at work to produce the Intelligent changes or at least, to influence those changes. You can seduce yourself to death but 2+2 still equals 4 even if you were investing a million bucks to get 5 out of it, the same rule applies for reality of SEQUENTIAL INFO stocked in cells filled with molecular machines who get dictated to do an INTELLIGENT TASK with coded LANGUAGE. Spirit over matter

  • Hard to be manipulated intellectually after you people have imposed your evolutionary sets of religious beliefs(Bouillie pour les Shaw) on us, it must be hard for you people see very brilliant people dissenting from Darwinism at an exponential rate, that must mean that people are waking up to that Eugenist agenda, hard to realize that we were all belonging to the same religious sect but none of us knew...now we know better.

  • If the number of brilliant people had been growing at an exponential rate, and they had been noticeable a year ago, there would now be more of them than there are trolls on YouTube or humans on Earth, whichever is larger.

  • If chimps had really evolved, they would be no more chimps today, no more whales, no more animals, we would all be evolved at the rate with which you people keep adding billions of years so far away in time that we cannot even empiricly check anything!

  • You seem to be under the impression that evolution is some goal oriented process, it's not. We didn't evolve from chimps either, we share a common ancestor.

  • A common Creator, not ancestor, we share the same number of chromosomes with tobacco plants but we're not related duuuh!

  • the belief of a creator is only as scientific as the belief that invisible goblins with strings are responsible for gravity, technically you can't prove they aren't but that makes it non science.

Noone is claiming solely the number of chromosomes is evidence, its the fact that the fusion site of chromosome 2 in humans is matchable to with 15 bases of chimp chromosomes 12 and 13, that and theres 96% identity across the rest of the genome.

  • @Serge1965

Actually we are related to tobacco. I suggest that you don't learn your science from "Hello, my name is Kent Hovind."

  • WOW, Mr Balabaw, your religion is really getting somewhere! Or is it the pot that is getting cheaper by the minute?

  • Imposed? Exactly which part do you think has to be imposed? Exponential rate? There were 2 actual biologists that signed the dissent from darwin paper, and that was only because it was rejecting a very generalized strawman.

  • Oh way more than 2 buddy, they are way passed 500 if not in the thousands but i will check again, we might be surprised of how many dissentors were formerly rational thinkers and are now loving INTELLIGENCE

  • No, it's 2, and I think you mean they would be settling for personal incredulity.

  • I guess you really do value materialism and relativism as your little gods, did you know that IQ tests are done by measuring the intelligence of a person using only one half the brains, if i were you, i would be careful about boasting about intelligence and rationality sir, you probably are sincere in wanting to defend the undefendable but think for a second that the accountability that you so fear to give to God while here, you will give when you meet Him face to face, are sins so important?

  • I must admit you are very good at presenting scientific Jumbo Mumbo but tell me, since you definitely show more IQ than the Eiffel Tower's height, if you look at your newspaper in the morning, doesn't it occur to you to think that in ORDER to have lettrers put in an INTELLIGENT sequence on that newspaper page, A SOURCE of INTELLIGENCE had to be behind it? Is it too far fetched that in ORDER to have a DNA sentence, INTELLIGENCE would be required? : )

  • You don't need intelligence as long as there are culling and variational mechanisms. Evolution by natural selection is not random, as natural selection prefers some traits over others.

Ever heard of evolving software? You start with one piece of code, create random variations, and cull the 99% that do worst at whatever you're trying to do. Introduce more variation, re-apply the culling mechanism, and eventually (very soon) you get (e.g.) a spell-checker.

  • Evolving sftware that was created by an INTELLIGENT SOURCE again bud, you gotta do better, even with the most intelligent software and computers that man will ever come up with, it will never even approach the skilful design of the 66 books comprised in the Bible!

  • skillful design? the bible says Pi is 3

  • Where did you borrow that line? It seems that every atheist borrows that same old line that has been answered so many times, that basin was round at the bottom and the Bible only gave a measure for the outside ring not for the whole basin, never said that PI was equal to 3, that is borrowed skating from your deluded friends LOL!

  • It says the circumference was 30 cubits and the diameter was 10, when you divide the circumference of a circle by it's diameter, you're supposed to get Pi.

  • Well, the cubits were probably approximative and useless for the reader but i suppose that the builder knew what he was doing and for someone who does believe in evolution, you seem to become more and more a Bible expert too, i guess you atheist love to exchange the same verses but what about the rest of the Bible, what did you read?

  • I've read it all, bits at the time.

  • Ok mr professor, i will behave myself, have you listened to the video where the dude contradicts you? And if you cannot handle the heat, find another job, there are competent teachers out there who see the obvious! As if chance and chaos can produce anything good? What brand of coffee do you buy?

  • Complexity and INFORMATION spells out DESIGNER, fine tuning spells out: CONSCIOUS OBSERVERS, sheesh man get some stronger coffee!

  • Then be concise in your thinking and don't act like a 5 year old suckie pants

  • Watch here on youtube: Does Endogenous Retrovirus Prove Evolution? - ERVs - Richard Sternberg, PhD Evolutionary Biology

  • Look, Mr Molecularbiovids, your assertions have already been answered with much more evidence so posting with such fervor to hide my condescending comments will never hide the truth to the public at large that you people deny the Intelligence behind the information stored in the cell and which drives those molecular machines, i have rhetoricly answered you the same way you have welcomed me on here, atheists only call us ignorant by their own ignorance, good luck with your randumbness

  • But, we were designed to have dominion over the soul-less monkeys...

  • Simply saying it's common design, shows that you are unwilling to seriously engage the data. All you are saying is that "God just made it that way."

Honest creationists, who are appropriately scientifically trained, don't make these 'common design' arguments and explain in detail why they are inadequate.

If God seemingly created with the appearance of common ancestry, and we can't tell the difference between the two, then Ockham's razor allows us to dispense with the unnecessary entity.

  • Well, i will be straight forward and say that i am not trained scientificly except for the biology courses and forestry and geology courses i have taken but those who teach Intelligent Design make more sense in their Empirical teachings than the likes of you all put in one basket.

  • One question, who has put the information in the cell? Who has designed the molecular machines to read the code? Commmon ancestry? It looks like you interpret it that way by more gymnastics of the brains than real factual evidence, the only commonality i see between us and the chimps is that we came from the same Creator..

  • It has been explained innumerable times why 'common design' is nowhere near as valid an explanation for the genomic data as common descent, and your ignorance, or inabillity to understand this is not a valid response.

What exactly are you arguing? How do ERVs and pseudogenes get into the same syntenous regions in different organisms' genomes? And with the exact mutational build up that we would predict from common ancestry.

  • Oh you don't know me kiddow, and you already assume that i am ignorant, but that does not surprise me, it just tells me how insecure a person you are, what i am arguing is that complexity does not come from irrationality nor random mutations, it simply goes against all logic and can only be maintained in the finite brains of deceived minds who love their lusts so much that they have to keep the deception alive for that very purpose

  • Furthermore, you are begging the question by asking 'who' put the information in the cell?

Nobody has ever established there was a who; everything we know shows that it was put there by a gradual incremental process, built up from simplicity to complexity.

  • keep spreadin the knowledge bro.

  • Great job!

  • Top shelf ★★★★★

  • Hi Jon. It can safely be said that the probability that we do NOT share common ancestry with other primates is p<10^(-100). I think you've contributed at least a few more dozen digits to that. Thank you. Tom

  • Youtube tells me that the first video is not available in my country due to copyright restrictions.

  • This is what I subscribed for. You kept us all in interested and you even got more subs by not making any videos than I did with making videos hehe.

    Looking forward to more :)
