My family all lives in Bedford! In fact my mom is visiting me now here in Maryland and I was showing her how you can find anything on Youtube even Bedford Indiana!!!
Interesting to watch, but I don't think it is really representave of Bedford. I was born there and spent my first 20 years there. I realize it has changed a lot since my time, but when you say that west 16th st. is the main road into the city, that is dumb. The main road is highway 37 (north from Indy, south to Kentucky). West 16th st. doesn't go anywhere except West to Williamsburg. I grew up in Bedford. If any of my cousins are reading this, it is Billy Joe Finn.
Ok, so I'm not sure how old this video is,start with the bridge they crossed on 16th St before Parkview School.. Its not the white river, its RR tracks, the orange houses are the result of a man that tried to get the area zoned for a parts store and the city denyed the request. They have built a walmart supercenter on John Williams Blvd, and a strip mall to go with it. Visteon joins GM with the factorys (2) factory town, however, Visteon is closing its doors withen 6 months or so.

The Bridge you crossed just crosses over a rail raod track, not the white river. There is a creek though, spider creek is it's name. Also how long ago where you in bedford because, Parkview was Bedford Jr High School prior to the early 80's, just curious.
PS It's a 2 factory town even though ford is leaving...someday.
Other than that, it's a unwealth economical town. Great for retirement, poor for the youth.

My grandfather lived between Oolitic and Bedford. Trips to the area were always the best times for me. Thanks for posting this!
