  • This is specifically addressed to the author of the video,

What is the point of this video? Is it to show that the founders were anti-religious? Because if it is, u did not prove anything. I have a lot of videos that would disprove that if that if that were the case.

  • @bRizzle2009100

"Is it to show that the founders were anti-religious? "

More simply and truly put, they were nearly all off them 'men of their time' which was the enlightenment which was a time that was characterized by scientific enquiry over faith and secularism.

Secularism being the more important point. The USA's constitution has more in common with that of France than the UK.

  • @madstaringeyes77 To say that these men were not at all influenced by their faith is a fallacy. Most of these men were devout Christians. Christianity, going back to Columbus and even the Pilgrims had tremendous influence in the making of America.

Their is a tremendous difference between France and the U.S.'s constitution. France has a quazi-socialist govt and the U.S. has a constitutional-republic. France and the U.S. are nothing alike.

  • @bRizzle2009100

The US is a constitutional secular republic and France is a constitutional secular republic.

The US constitution was founded on the principles of the secular enlightnment rather than christianity.

This is not up for debate, it is a well accepted historical fact. Do your homework.

  • @madstaringeyes77 U mean ppl like Locke, Montesquieu, and Blackstone? U should read more into Locke, he was a theologian. He wrote many books on Christianity. If u read his Two Treaties on Government, there are over 1,500 Bible references in them. Even guys like Blackstone derived their views from Christianity. Read his Commentaries on the Laws and they are very evangelical. But even if u were to take all of the enlightenment guys, the Bible was still THE most quoted source by the founders, 34%.

  • Awesome video!

  • Lincoln not a Founding Father - John Adams was the man who suggested to the Constitutional Convention after months of arguing to go to Church together and they all did - 3 days later we had a Constitution. Thomas Jefferson while President of the US, had the House of Representatives on Sundays used as a Church with a non-denominational Christian Pastor presiding as and he attended .... Benjamin Franklin was Baptized and continued to attend Anglican Christ Church in Philadelphia his entire life.

  • I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the Doctrines of Jesus ... Thomas Jefferson - to Charles Thomson January 9th, 1816

  • Most of these are from Thomas Jefferson. You understand he was not the only founding father. "The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession." You also may be able to understand that does not mean he is not a Christian.

  • Religion is the cause behind wars. That and the Zionist bankers. Look at the Jesuits. You should consider giving up all the religions and fight for your country's freedom. PLEASE!

  • Throughout history humans have had the need to believe in a higher athority. The presense of a God in scociety has been crucial to its devolpment in setting behavioral guidlines. I prefer the biblical God to the god of specious politics! That one at least can't raise my taxes!

  • "The Founding Fathers are Laughing all the Way to Hell"?

    Really? even the Ministers?

  • people are reading too deeply into certain aspects of our fore-fathers' opinions. what about the opinions (of almost everyone mentioned in this video) where 'God is Necessary'.?.. our founding fathers were, for the most part, Extremists. their anger toward church stems from Englands iron-clad rule over church and people.

We are a blessed nation. The most blessed nation(imo). and i don't think any of that can be contributed to the lack of the existence of God.

  • All those who are quoted in this video were Christians.

  • Wrong.

  • Well they all believed in a god.

  • wrong again...

  • Sorry. They were all Deists or Christians.

  • What a dumb video. You know absolutely nothing about separation of church vs state, or religious freedom...or evidently anything about our founding fathers.

  • Would you care to enlighten us with your knowledge then?

  • Pertaining too...?

  • Pertaining *TO* your vast knowledge of separation of church and state, and religious freedom, and our founding fathers, since you believe the poster of this video knows "absolutely nothing" of these.

  • I second this notion. Please, enlighten us.

  • Nobody is trying to force their religion onto you....grow up. The real reason the Founding Fathers are laughing at us is we are a nation of self indulgent pussies, looking for something, ANYTHING to be outraged about at each other.

  • who is the song by and whats the name of the song great quotes?

  • libertarianeurope, you make me laugh. "I am professor of Political Science lol"

Anyone can say anything they want. I can't imagine any school hiring someone as ignorant as you. If you had half a brain, you would know better than to say something like "LIBERTARIAN ANARCHISM!"

Either anarchism is libertarian or it is not. It doesn't need a modifier. Anyway, it is only total nutcases that write in capital letters.

  • Lincoln was the first modern fascist, high taxes, agression, a civil war, debt, central bank... He is not a founding fathers or a libertarian.

    THOMAS JEFFERSON FOREVER!

  • "Libertarians" are first of all arrogant egotists, most of whom could not survive in a "libertarian" world because they are total losers.

    Secondly, "libertarians" are fascist assholes.

  • Lol selfishness is a virtue, long life to Ayn Rand.

    I am not socialist-fascist :P

  • Libertarianism is socialism? LOL

  • You dumbass libertarianeurope, you can't even read. I said fascism. Which is exactly true.

  • And fascism is a kind of socialism, as Mises proved.

    Libertarianism is socialism? Lol

  • Mises was a fascist, as are all libertarians. Libertarians think that anyone who has gained some "property" can enslave or kill everyone else.

  • Mises a socialist? LOL

Obviously you know nothing about freedom.

  • No one with a brain over 20 something still believes the libertarian fascist crap.

  • Libertarianism is socialism? LOL

    ANARCHISM FOREVER!

  • libertarianeurope, you know nothing about anarchism, which libertarianism is not. Anarchism is about mutual aid, not the fascist dog-eat-dog paradise of libertarians.

  • aid by force is fascism

True anarchism is libertarian. I am professor of Political Science lol

  • Oh, and John Adams with the Sedition Acts was what?

"agression, civil war", I see where you are coming from you confederate apologist. Libertarianism is fascism and would inevitably lead to slavery.

  • John Adams was socialist with sedition acts.

    LIBERTARIAN ANARCHISM!

  • It seems to me that you have a personal vendetta for organized religion, and specifically Christianity. How do you think that the founding fathers support you in your mission to rid the world of Christianity? Not only is it common knowledge, because it is in the Constitution, but you used quotes in this video showing that the founding fathers were very much for freedom of religion, not try to get rid of religion. Toleration for non believers and believers alike. Good try though.

  • I am not trying to be intolerant or rid the nation of christianity, i am only showing those people that think the US was founded as a christian nation (and i didnt say by non-christians) that it was founded as a secular nation with the freedom to choose.

  • @xAdam05x trying to get rid of christians through propaganda, as long as it is not compulsory (and atching youtube isnt) cannot be considered intolerance by any sane person

  • Great video, FOXholeAtheist. Great quotes, great photos, great music. Thanks. Added it to my favorites.

  • I wish America's founding fathers were alive. :(~

  • why, they would kill themselves the second they came back because they would see everything they risked there lives for has been destroyed. everything they fought for is perverted and distorted.

  • Christ established one "church" all the rest are denominations that piss and quibble. Belief in God is not a religion, but a faith.

Plus, the paradox of atheist: To say there is no God you must be able to be everywhere. Cause if you are in one place who is to say God isnt in another, so you must be omni-present...and to be omni-present you must be a God, a god which you dont believe in.

Christs Kingdom is of the heart and not of this world.

  • But the burden of proof is not on the non-believer. That is like me asking you to prove that an invisible pink unicorn is not in my closet. The bruden of proof is on you. There is no way to dis-prove god...which isn't in itself proof.

  • Which is why I find agnosticism credible (I mean, in terms of the "there may or may not be a god/entity" type). Not that I support it, but at least all the agnostics I know are entirely rational.

  • @jedijoe1976 And since you cannot possibly examine and verify that every pebble on every beach on the entire planet is not the egg of an alien parasite, this makes my assertion that there are billions of such parasites waiting to hatch and possess our bodies true.

Such is the logic of your argument.

  • Also alcountry, give me one piece of science that supports the exsistence of god...just one.

  • There is a huge amount of information in the world.Pastuer proved life does not come from non-life. Similiary, intelligence(humans)can't come from non-intelligence.There would have to be intelligence that had not been created to create intelligence.1)Whatever begins to exist has a cause2)The universe began to exist3)therefore the universe has a cause.

  • But that doesn't prove God is that cause. Or more specificaly your god. And the cause you speak of could have been many other scientific explanations such as the big bang. I dare you to read just a little bit on physics in a science book. You'd be suprised.

  • I saw some posts about God and thought I'd comment. If there is no God and everything came about by chance then humans, our brains, and our thought processes are here because of random processes.Who is to say our brain evolved the right way-what's the "right" way.How would we know if our brain was working correctly or if "there is no God" is a true statement?Science supports the existence of God immensely.Creation and a single cell are so complex it testifies it did not come from nothing, but byGod

  • Your statement above is mixing Philosophy with evlotionary biology. Its like using psycology to prove that someone doesn't have the cold...it doesn't work. So what I am saying is just because the philosphy of God doesn't make sense to you doesnt discount the science behind it.

  • wat the name of this song

  • Why do you have to have all the answers? Why does it always have to make sense from a human perspective? What happened to live and let live? That's the underlying premise this country was founded on.

  • You have to be joking. Last time I checked all the major religions on this planet have the vouchesafed answers to all existence! LOL. Scientist inherently know they do not have the answers in fact if you knew anything about the scientific method you would know any theory has the possibility of being falsified in the future by counter evidence. In essence our knowledge is always tentative. Religion claims absolute knowledge which has already been falsfified over and over.

In essence our knowledge is always tentative. Religion claims absolute knowledge which has already been falsfified over and over.

  • I also find it ironic how you seem to feel your opinion should be so highly valued. Do you have available to you so much knowledge and understanding of the past and present that you are in a constant state of wisdom being able to discern personal influence from documents/sources that we should follow your otherwise seemingly ignorant rants?

Now that's arrogant. Any mature Christian knows they don't have all the answers and would humbly admit that.

  • Explain to me any hypothesis that is emperically testable and makes a specific prediction of or allows a valid inference regarding the attributes of a "creator" or "creators"? Lunacy. If anything you can infer the creator botched his experiment and hence is impotent at best.

  • nontheistdavid-

You're funny and sad at the same time. What I've read - it is commonly understood by science that there are altogether too many things that can only be explained by the existence of a creator.

  • Only be explained by the existence of a creator? LOL What a joke. Science starts with the assumption of no creator. If that were true then science would cease. You are deluded.

  • founding fathers were freemason dogs

  • only about ten or fifteen out of over fifty were masons.

  • you guys should be politicians....many responses but no answers

  • And an atheist believes in millions of things. Count up everything you can in the universe. You have a rather pathetic view of science and the majesty of what we have come to understand. If you even pondered the evolution of life on this planet it should make your head spin. It is much more lively than just saying mundanely "god did it". zzzzzzzz

  • And you have made yourself once again look ignorant by saying "Arrogant atheist to admit...." Who is more arrogant, somebody who says god exists or somebody who has no belief because no proof exist? You ASSUMING god existing is pretty arrogant if you ask me. If every scientist took your position about exploring the universe by just saying "oh hell we won't know, so it must be god." we would be screwed. A believer is the ARROGANT one. Believing in something with no proof.

  • I'll admit, I'm an agnostic, not an atheist just for this reason. To state that there is no God is just as flaud a statement as stating that there is. We will never know and will never be certain. What we do know comes from rational observations of the world and universe around us, codified into a discipline known as science.

  • If you're willing to accept the thought that 'truth' is a relative concept, then God is no longer uniquely inscrutable. The most important things are those which confront you *right now*, not abstract things like God.

  • You have a point, science can not explain everything about the universe. But as opposed to religion it has done a decent job so far, and I believe it will continue to do so in the future.

And it is for this reason that so many people turn to science rather than god.

  • Oh by the way NICE VIDEO foxholeatheist!

  • And non believers along with believers worry about religion and it's seperation from the state. Religion is meddling more and more within goverment and our founding fathers are currently rolling in their graves as we speak. You are free to practice whatever religion you want as long as it does not impinge on the decisions of goverment.

  • why does other peoples religion offend or threaten you? i am not religious, i am spiritual, and i bother no one.

  • why do atheists fight about religion? people that believe only in what they see are ignorant....i've never seen a baby sea gull but i'm pretty sure they exist based on logic...just as i know God exists by looking at everything around me including myself....if God didn't make everything then tell me how everything came to be and try to sound convincing

  • How did god come into being? Another being? who made that being? infinite regression. If you had a general science education you would realize life evolved and just didnt POP into existence like a fairy using a wand. LOL.

  • How in the hell is knowing that a baby sea gull exist the same as knowing god exist? LOL You can infer a baby sea gull from seeing adult sea gulls or you can go out and emperically observe one. Now how can you use those same methods to find god? LOL

  • People that believe only in what they see are ignorant? You have got to be kidding lol. With that logic then there are possibly an infinite amount of things I cant see that might exist. I think I will start to believe in flying purple pigs in the orbit of saturn to start! What an ignorant comment you have made son.

  • If you say God created everything you start with a loaded proposition. Assuming god exist already . If you say god is uncaused even though EVERYTHING has to have a cause then I can say the universe is uncaused. Your argument and others like it are just variations of the Cosmological argument and don't hold any water.

  • man you atheists are touchy....do you believe in life after death? do you believe in anything after death? what were you before you came to life in this life? what's the point of life in a purely scientific universe? something must have decided that everything is pointless without life to appreciate it

  • Why would you ASSUME people feel no meaning in life because they dont believe in invisible beings or in things that have no proof? You need to get out. Hundreds of millions live satisfying lives without believing in god or any religion. What kind of life is it to wait until you die and twiddle around on earth till then?

  • And atheist are not touching they ASK QUESTIONS about things instead of just assuming they have been answered. Wow, such a bad way to conduct ones life huh. Question things! LOL. Idiot. Do you just accept everything you are told ? Idiot. I think believers dont appreciate life hence they dwell on an afterlife.

  • And if you dont APPRECIATE science then quit using every appliance ever created or every car you drove or anthing dealing with medicine and quit going to a physician. Idiot.

  • ....how does something come from nothing? and if it didn't start from nothing then how did that something come to be? can you name one bit of matter that came to be without the use of already existing matter? it seems just as far fetched for there not to be a supernatural intelligence to me as it does for you to believe there is one, or maybe it's just hard for you arrogant atheists to admit there's something smarter than you out there LOL

  • how does something come from nothing? ---- Atheists don't claim this. ---- can you name one bit of matter that came to be without the use of already existing matter? ---- That's the point. Existence precedes causality. ---- or maybe it's just hard for you arrogant atheists to admit there's something smarter than you out there LOL ---- Well that something sure isn't God's followers.
  • How does something come from nothing? Good question God sure the hell couldn't come from NOTHING either. You just undermined your own argument DUH. It makes much more sense to posit that matter or universes have always existed you want to know why? Because WE CAN SEE ONE AND MEASURE IT! LOL Duh. Second the term supernatural makes no sense . If something exist then it is part of the natural universe Idiot. And if you kept up with quantum mechanics something can come from a vacuum.

  • It's called vacuum fluctuations. Antiparticles come into existence and are annihilated. In fact some particles literally have no MASS but can be inferred from other behaviours in particles and can be detected. Mister Deputy I am glad you dont make decisions in scientific research otherwise we would be in the medieval period once again. That is what the Bush administration is trying to do! LOL

  • Although most had religious beliefs, they chose to keep their religious beliefs at home when it came to running the country. I wish like hell we could bring them all back to get the USA back on track and out of the hands of xian fundies. If you haven't already, you should read "Freethinkers: A History of American Secularism" by Susan Jacoby.

  • Good book libertarianand. I also suggest "American Theocracy" it is a very scary book about a possible future america.

  • I hope you don't think that the founding fathers were atheists. Many were Deists and some were Quakers. They were highly against mixing religion and government (unfortunately our country is taking a step backwards these days).

  • has anyone noticed how everything johnny marr touches turns to gold?

  • Also i never said there was no problem with religions. There alot of problems. However "true" christians dont hurt anyone. Again, becuase I am rather pissed at this statment. How i am wrong for thinking im right and others who dont beleave in god are wrong, but its just fine for you to beleave that your right and that there is no god, and people who beleave in god are wrong. Thats just stupid. If thats your biggest problem with the faithful then take a good look in the mirror.

  • There is no such thing as a TRUE christian because if you followed the bible to a T then you would have been put in jail for multiple murders! LOL. Read Dueteronomy, Leviticus, and the Ten Commandments. There is not 1 "christian" who follows the bible to a T hence no REAL christians at all.

  • Try again. Who were those books originally written to? Think audience.

It is understood that all fall short of perfection.

  • I hate how true christains are played out to be so evil/bad. I hate every religion in the world!!! I dont see my faith in jesus as a religion. I dont go to church, i dont make any"confessions" with a preists. I follow the ten commandments, and live my life as a normal human being...I follow by gods simple plan of salvation and know that im saved. I dont see how millions of inocent men and children die from people like me.

  • And you are only part of the problem because you DONT see how religion and faith in god can be a problem. It is not you and your personal belief that is the problem...its the belief that you are right and everone else is wrong that is the problem.

  • Faith is God is not a problem. God in politics IS. As an atheist, your religion is your business. I applaud the morals and ethics taught by most religions. However, there is a fine line between morals and ethics, and religious positions. Too bad we can't separate the two when casting our votes.

  • (oops) s/b-As an atheist, [I beleive] your religion...

  • You surely need to read your commandments again. If you work on sunday ever you should be stoned. If you have kids and they mouthed off at you, stone them. Read your commandments and the repurcussions of them. Death. Faith in jesus is not a religion? are you stupid? You believe a man rose like a zombie and flew to heaven that sure is a religion and requires blind faith lol.

  • what Bible did you pretend to read?

  • live your life as a normal human being? HMMM I think most people live life as a normal human being whether they have beliefs or no beliefs. Another ignorant statement.

  • what? you hate all religions? yet you follow the ten commandments? I'll assume your a descent Christian who is just mad at all the vocal minorities commenting on this vid.

  • What modern human follows the ten commandments and follows them up with the consequences of breaking them? DEATH.You are insane my friend.

  • Sweet. I was hoping you would make this a response. Thanks!

  • Splendid! Your average extreme right fundie will plug their ears, close their eyes and go Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! When they are confronted with the truth.

  • I wonder how the theists will spin this one! Bravo!

  • I was wondering the same thing

    great job 5/5
