For a couple of reasons really.

Firstly double wishbone suspension is actually overkill on the rear for a front wheel drive car and doesnt really add anything worthwhile whilst also being more expensive.

Secondly it eats up boot space.

@summ0004 May be an overkill but a good overkill. i had the EP3 02plate. the back wheel would often lift in a corner thus demonstrating it was cornering at its limit. The new single piece will not let the wheel lift limiting the steering and also making the car heavier. A bad move for a car of this nature.

The strong point of the type R is its engine, very light and revy. Major weak points: the brakes (easy in the red) and the steering, not communicative enough. I have a megane R26R.. another world regarding, chassis..suspension, steering.

This 4 cyl Honda is a absolute piece of jewelery. It is like half a V8 Ferrari..same revs and alsmost same sound (compare with the sound of my F430 vdo).The engine is so light under the foot has no little inertia that you touch the limiter permanently. The Vtec is the soul of all Type R's for little money.

The new civic does look to be THE best interior of any car ive seen, and this is including porsches/ferraris/astons..

The fact the old civic did 0-60 in 6.9, and the new does it in 6.5, plus the old one had 197bhp,(apart from the later 201bhp upgraded version), the new one has 200bhp!

There is no competition. If you want to rev the tits off a car, get an mg, if you want a quality build, smooth ride, get a Honda or VW. (and no i dont have a type R-i have an Audi)

using the car on small roads or track, the feeling is to drive " with the front wheels only " , the back wheels are glued to the road...it is not very fun. the fun thing is the engine noise and revs, very similar in the tone to the ferrari's V8 sound type.

@p753159 the ep3 is not better,listen what jeremy says "is not even faster but it has more fun",the only thing that change booth cars is the weitgh and power,the fn2 chassis is more rigid so better but the ep3 is more fun cause you can make waht you want like the old dc2,eg6 or ek9,ek4 ,the fn2 is better than the ep3 but due to the fucking european laws it only had 1hp but you can see than with more 100kg with only 1hp more the ep3 can't beat the fn2 on the straigth line...
