I've seen Radiohead in concert three times. And even though I keep coming back for more... I always wish that Thom would at least TRY to sing when he's on stage. It pisses me off how unprofessional this slob is.
And here I thought Radiohead fans were smart. Notice how I said that I've seen them three times. Tickets aren't cheap but this is my favorite band of all time. I was there that night and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. That still doesn't change the fact that Thom Yorke often acts and sounds drunk while he's on stage. He's a fantastic singer... when he wants to be. It was still worth every penny I paid for it.
haha that was a sick 180. but come on are you serious about thom being unprofessional? ive gotta say youre pretty harsh calling him an unprofessional slob and then changing it up by saying theyre your favorite band. im not saying you should worship your favorite band like gods, but what do you want from him? just stand up there in one spot and sing perfectly on pitch? his voice cracks sometimes but its real. sorry i came off as stupid but your first comment didnt warrant a real response.
I don't think it was a 180 at all. I had said in my original post that I keep coming back for more; implying that I was a huge fan. And I agree it was a little harsh calling Thom 'unprofessional'. I don't expect him to be pitch perfect, but he often intentionally abandons the vocal structure while live for reasons I can't figure out. The quality of the songs, however, make up for it which is why I'll always be there to buy a Radiohead ticket every single time they come to my town.
ok i kinda see whats goin on here. i enjoy his stage shennanigans, even if it costs a bit of his vocal quality sometimes and youre more interested in a solid vocal structure than him acting out. i understand, just two different points of view, fair enough.
You call me retarded and yet you're the one who can't spell worth a damn. You give others the impression that you probably can't speak worth shit, either. Why don't you read the conversation I had with gibbduncun and then ask me again whether or not I want to see Radiohead live.
I was at the St. Louis show last night and they ended w/ Paranoid Android. Towards the end the lights and prjectors and overhang all went completely rainbow.
i was theeeeeeeeeere!!!!..... i drove all the way from miami to atlanta, to see them after seeing them in west palm beach 3 days before... that's how fucking great it was... haha
that was my first radiohead concert, and 2nd concert(im 14) and when they played paranoid android i was pumped, it was an awesome show. bet night ever
and i want to learn how to be a lighting guy like the persons who designed this show. much better than my bank job. maybe if i see radiohead enough times and other bands i love, then i will eventually switch careers. be a lighting designer.
and i wish they would use the light tubes to make some semi 3-d effects like a cube turning in space. that would be way cool to have a 3d light show right above the band.
they haven't played creep since 1996 and this is the first appearance of PA on this tour. hopefully it will be played in dallas or houston. i'm wishing for knives out, lucky (which they seem to be playing every show) and PA.
i wished they started the show with videotape instead of ending with it.
crap sorry my bad, i was looking at 58 hours site. yes you are right when i think of it, i've seen it on youtube.
oh but to hear PA and knives out and lucky in houston or dallas.
actually i don't mind whatever they play. even the radiohead songs that aren't my favorite (or that i don't like) sound different and amazing in concert.
i know it will never happen but i'd also like to hear analyze live.
when i win the lotto i will spend the rest of my life following my fave bands!
i love that they dont play creep. its obvious that they are more tired of that song than paranoid. i cant wait till dallas i hope they do a set similar to atlanta including airbag!
Disappointing? I was amazed by this concert, as I always am by Radiohead. I was 5 feet away from the stage, and it was like a moment of clarity! I can't to see them for a third time at Lollapalooza

Right. And I'm sure we can both agree that Radiohead is one of the best, if not THE best, bands in the world today. :)

Thom has said multiple times that he dislikes playing really anything off of OKC. It was a tough time for Thom, I can understand why

This is awesome that you got the whole song. Perfect song for the beginning of the second encore.
Awesome show. Disappointed that they didn't play Fake Plastic Trees or Creep though.

you can tell thom is sick of this song. listen to the "what was that?:" part. he did that the last time i saw them at alpine valley. dissapointing
vitalangerment 3 years ago
I agree... he's often out of tune in the verse, I don't really know but 'cause (listen to nude live) he can sing perfectly when he wants to...
As usual Jonny is amazing and this performance is the most powerful Paranoid Android ever listened
