  • You are such a professional using only the finest tools and an excellent techique!! Great vid especially for the beginners!!! THX!

  • The brush was genial!!

  • i friggin love you!!

  • i used to put lining on my eye using an eye pencil, but it's smudge after an hour esp.when i am sweating.what can you suggest to use better aside from eye pencil to prevent from smudging.

  • After applying pencil liner pun on top of it a matching shadow :) it will help with the smearing

  • gel liner doesn't budge at all.

  • I definitely learned something today...I am going to the mirror right now to practice. I LOVE your videos. Thank you EnKore....

  • wow you're awesome.

you even made the blunt tip work without even trying.

both sides looked good to me.

  • Can i try the trick of using the brush to line my eye with eye shadow? or is it for pencils only.

  • you have really nice eye brows and eyes =]

  • You are like the best. Each time I watch your videos, I always learn something new...Thank you so much

  • tnks love it

  • I'm so bad at this!

    thank you for posting this!

  • OMG! I am so bad at eyeliner lol! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for this tutorial!!!

Take care & keep smiling ☺

  • THANK YOU :) I am so bad at make-up and have always wondered how 2 get a really thin line on my eyelid, and the brush idea is so good. you are truly my idol :)

  • isn't it so freakin' obvious that a sharpener is essential? ??

  • Your eyes are so pretty!

  • Because he's a makeup artist.

  • haha oh you foolish one, many many men do make up? have you ever been in a sephora/MAC store?

  • He can make his own decisions, him doing make-up isn't a threat to humanity is it? Your opinion about what he should do is totally irrelevant, despite being a bit rude.

  • Oh well, I already said something. You just didn't seem very satisfied with the answer you were given = rude.

  • a- did you know that the 1st geisha in japan were men? they applied makeup to great specifications. also, a lot of kubuki actors do the same thing today. not to mention numerous tribal populations around the world, which include men, that do face painting. oh yes, all of the actors you see in television shows, movies, etc. i could go on...and on... so you see, men are equally as common in applying makeup as are women. explore the internet grasshopper, maybe you have hidden talent too! ^..^

  • im not trying to hate..... just so that is said... but i can use a "blunt" unsharpened pencil and acheive a fine line.... but i like the way that you explain the difference... but people you should sharpen your pencil regularly... why? because there is a lot of bacteria that can just sit and grow on there... and therefore it could transfer to your eye... that would be nastay!!!!! thanks

  • OMFG!!!

    U ARE SO AWESOME!!!

    my new hero :D

  • thank you so much for this video!

  • i dont car if ur gay u have awesome tips

  • question? why does it matter?

  • Do You HAve A Problem Because He Can Do Whatever He Wants Stay Out Of His Buisness If He Wanted To Tell You Do You Think He Would Say In His Videos Yes Im Gay Gosh Stay Out Of His Buisness

  • Enkoremakeup has done a wonderful Job in doing all the video tutorials and that's all that matters. Take what you can get from it.

Questions should be geared toward what his videos are all about, anything outside of that is not really important is it?

Thanks for taking the time to post all the videos Koren. Learned a lot.

    =)

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • I just wanted to say that your videos are awesome and keep doing what your doing please!!

  • Hi,

I know this question has nothing to do with lining the upper eyelid...

But what type of eyeliner would be best to use on the waterline, a normal eyeliner or a waterproof one?

The reason I ask, someone once told me never to use a waterproof one, I don't know why they said that.

I should imagine a waterproof one would last on the waterline longer.

  • yes, waterproof is definitely ideal as the the waterline is always wet/moist. So if you use a regular liner, it will smudge, and not stay on the waterline membrane

  • its weird having a boi putting makeup on lol j/k j/k ... But thankz for the tip really helps.. =]

  • im soory but that was just bad my friend..but then again this is for beginer and ive been doing eyeliners for like 5 years give or take so um i guess good job???

  • So are you a make up artist like Enkore then.

  • He Cant Help It He Has To Take A 20 Dollar Per Pill To Keep Him ALive Hes Really Shaky So STop BEing Ignorant And Leave Him ALone

  • HOW CAN ONE STOP BEING IGNORANT, if they didnt know before? gosh go educate yourslf and then nag on others

  • SWEET! TY so much! I learn so much from you...when are you coming over to my makeup? :D lol

    Laurie in TX O:)

  • Wow.. Thanks Koren. I had that flat brush for awhile (from the vrush kit) and frankly, didn't know what to do with it. Looking forward to wake up and play with it tomorrow!!

  • u rock.thnx so much

  • Thanks for the tip ^^

Some of my eye-liners are so annoying to sharpen though because one of them actually break every time I sharpen it :(

  • I love his eye colour :s

  • the liner tips i already knew but still i couldnt get a clean st8 line

with the brush its perfect i love it

    thx alot XD

    Thank you so much, Koren!

    Kisses from Brazil

  • u r awesome!!!!!

  • Wow you know so much about make-up I am going to be looking at ALL of your videos and some more then once so I get it.. funny that I am 37 years old and know NOTHING about make up LOL Well I was never a girly girl ;-)

Again Thank you so much :-)

  • After I watched your vid I went straight to take out my eyeliner pencil and used the finest eyeliner brush to pick up some colour from the pencil then I had a fine eyeliner on my eyes without any fuss.

Thank you very much for your great tips once again~

    Love your vids

  • hey missmarnip - are you talking about waterlining? this method is also known as tight-lining. It is quite commonly used, and can add drama to your eye makeup. However it will also give the look of smaller eye tho.

  • Comment removed

  • thats cool where can uget the shaprened pencil

  • Who cares if he's a guy

he has good advice on makeup

    thatnks for this vid

    I appreciate it

  • How do you sharpen an oval shaped pencil?

  • oval shaped pencil? what brand is it? most likely the same brand also carries sharpeners that will only work for those.

  • It is an Avon oval options eye pencil. I think they have been discontinued.

  • some people use brush specially those who wears gel-based or liquid products in their waterline.

  • hi Koren

haw do you keep mechanical pencils, like technakohl sharp?

they always seem to lose the edge.

  • like i did in this video - use a tissue and press the tip with fingers, squeeze gently and twist the tech pencil. This will cuase the tip to a nice point. Try it.

  • thanks!!

    you're great!

  • Nice,I also use that technique for my eyebrows

  • he is a professional makeup artist...grow up!

  • hey koren-nice one! now, how do you remove those waterproof liners? it's so hard to wash them off.. any tips? ty.

  • hey morf - my weapon for those -- a q-tip dipped in olive oil! they come off easily! Try it.

  • This was such a great tutorial for all, especially for beginners who need to learn application. Thank you for keeping up for the new guys Koren, Most Gurus think that everyone should know this. Remember all, there are growing Guru's out there, one day we will be gone and they will take over! Great thing is they will remember who took the time to give them the knowledge needed to grow.

    Thank you Enkore!

  • Thank you for this video! It was very helpful :)

  • guy or not.. he always has great tips and good advice.

  • Because he's a very talented make-up artist trying to help everyone. Thanks Koren for those amazing tips as always!

  • He is an amazing professional makeup artist..and he uses himself as a model cus it is easier..grow up!

  • i actually use that kind of brush for my brows, works really well.

  • Thanks Koren :)

Your videos are always so helpful

  • liquid eye liner is awesome for fine lines, but a lil more difficult to keep steady lol

  • This may be a dumb question, but what are the benefits from lining outer to inner eye?

I have always done it the opposite way & usually stretch the lid out a bit to avoid an uneven line, but I have been told that I am doing this all wrong.

So is there a best way?

  • That's exactly how I do it .. I'm tired of people telling me a certain way to do make up . if you do it on the outer line , in my opinion , it looks less natural and is more noticible . i like using make up on the inside of my eye rather then the outside . i just think its hidious if otherwise ..
  • i think what ever youre used to and works. Im trained to do it this way, as it is less stress on the lid area. Applying outwards tend to pull the skin more than applying inward. Id avoid tugging or stretching it tho, cuz that will eventaully will cause your lid skin loose elasticity and will therefore be prone to sagging and wrinkling.

  • Excellent point about avoiding future loss in skin firmness! I am definitely going to re-train myself to apply the way you've shown. Thanks for you help!! ; )

  • Always learning something from you...

  • thanks for not forgetting about us novice makeup artist, freelance starters,

keep posting beginners level tutorials too...........xoxoxoxo

  • that was so helpful i always use the old sharpend one.

  • thank you this REALLY helped me!!

  • I dont know why..and this is going to sound really weird..but u remind me of Johnny Depp..lol!:D

  • I love all your videos all of them are great....thanks babe :D

  • For those of you who didn't pay attention, Koren said it was for people who are just starting out with makeup. So although it may be "pointless" to you, it probably helped someone else out.

  • To reinforce what you're saying, I've been expanding my knowledge on makeup for less than a year now, so not that long really. This was TOTALLY worth the watch for me. Thank you Koren! xxxxxxxxxx

  • it's for people who are beginners. if i didnt know how to apply eyeliner it would be very helpful! harsh.

  • well, you always do the same test yourself, its pretty given really. Blunt pencils will give you wider lines than sharpened ones. Just teaching the newbies...

  • Koren, I am so thankful that you take the time to teach us "Newbies". I have been sitting at my laptop for two evenings, watching all of your tutorials, and I have learned so much from you. You are very kind and generous to spend so much of your time, to help those of us that cannot afford to go to a make-up artist. I have been wearing make-up more years than I care to admit, but I have learned much better application tips from you. I am in awe of your talent. Thank you so much.

  • oo thx for this

  • thanks for taking the time to make this vid ,it was very helpful as always :)

  • this was all way obvious... sorry enkore

also... using a shadow with a liner brush would be a lot more effective instead of taking color off the pencil...

  • well i really dont think he would of done this tutorial if it wasent requested a bunch of times.. obviously ppl who are new to makeup have asked him to do this..

and ppl still ask obvious questions but he is nice enough to make a video and answer those ppls questions

  • If this was so obvious, why did you watch it? :/

  • ENKORE ROXXXXXXX OMG!!! GO KOREN GO KOREN GO KOREN GO KOREN!!! HECK YEAAAAAAAAAA!!!

  • Could i use an angled brush for that too?

  • HAha the brush tip for the extra fine line is exactly what i do because i cant use a pencil for the life of me!! ehehe the brush is goof proof!!

  • i love that zooming effect! :D

  • Thanks for the tip Enkore, does the same apply for lip liner I seem to have alot of trouble with a lip liner pencil.

  • absolutely same applies with lip pencils

  • hi enkore,

thanks a million, that was a very helpful tutorial. xxx

    amie, ireland.

  • Hi I wanted to know how did u get started in the Make-up Industry. Is there a school you attended?

  • hi, i know im not enkore. but i felt i wanted to answer this(: hah, well my favorites are Nars cosmetics, NYX cosmetics, and ...MAYBELLINE! (: Nars is the most expensive out of those, and maybelline is the cheapest. but mac is my favorite for foundation(powder). hope i helped(:

  • tanx for the message but how much is maybelline.thanks again.

    covergirl's pencil sharpener is GREAT.

no lie. it sharpens my mac pencils so well. i love it.

  • is that aqua eyes pencils from make-up forever?

    :)

  • thanks koren!

  • i love eyeliner pencils but wat i dont like about them are that the colors arent as vibrant as liquid liners or the mac gel liner and i dont like my pencils sharp or my brushes so pointy it hurts my face like its poking me or something when i want to wing my eyeliner with pencil its sooooo much easier i use alot of q-tips and stretch my eye with my finger and clean it up with the q-tip (:

  • Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for...:)

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Koren! I use MAC fluidline, but would sometimes like a softer look, and I just experimented using my flat brush with an NYX jumbo pencil and it works great!

  • thnks so much 4 that excellent tip im definetely going to be using that tip in the near futre

  • Thanks Koren! I always used my flat brush with shadows, never thought about using it with the pencil!

  • Hi Koren! I'd like to thank you for this video! It was very helpful :) I need to invest in a good sharpener and angled bush. You mentioned two alternative brushes, the Mac 208 and 263... what are the differences?

    -Mini

  • the size of the bristles - 208 is smaller than a 266/263 - any of them works great for lining.

  • beautiful hazel eyes

  • Thanks so much for the tips!

  • I was just having problems with my pencils this morning .....love your tips. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the awesome tip! I think it's time I invested in some good makeup brushes. ^^

  • Thank you Koren! Your videos are always very helpful - I'm so glad you're back! =D

  • thanks Koren! great as always!

...gotta get me one of those brushes...

  • great video love your eyez

  • Now this was interesting.

You apply the eyeline from the outer to the inner corner of the eye - is this only you preference or is it easy that way?

(I have rather long lashes, natural curled. And they are mostly in my way when I try to apply eyeliner on the outer third of my eyelid)

  • Same thing happens to me. I can't apply the liner without pulling my skin. What I do is that I start the application from the middle to the inside corner. That way I have like a guide to then complete the hole thing to the outer corner depending if I want a wing look or not. Hope that helps.

  • always with the good info! any idea how to sharpen those auto pencils?? thanks Koren

  • hey JES - I do the 'tissue pressure on tip' method on that. similar to what i demonstrated in this video.

  • Thank You because I normally don't apply eyeliner because I am always having a hard time applying it ; o )

  • oh great, now i'm gonna have to go and spend $20 today on the liner brush! LOL! I like basic tips, that was great! i really am getting that brush today, and thank you :)

  • Go to Michaels and get a brush!

  • michaels the craft store??

  • Yepp, I actualy got my angled liner brush there. I did a video about it. It's called "I got my liner brush" lol

  • youe eye colour is pretty!

  • thanx i hate liquid but i hate how my eye shadow look with out it so thanks that is great xx

  • Sooooo goood tips!! ^^

  • I do that too! Use a 266 with a Kohl Power. ;3

  • it never occured 2me to use a brush hahaha

  • thnx for the lesson:)

  • Koren you're my inspiration ^_^

  • awesome!!!!
