You make your point clear now. I am not saying that piracy is in the same category of evil as terrorists. Even if the inclusion of that image is used as ONE of the arguments against piracy because that is only to increase people's awareness. That is what we were asked to produce for this project. The intention was never to invoke 'guilt by association' or anything of the sort.
To be fair, the part (at 00:48) could be also understood as "money from piracy supports terrorism" (not just "piracy is bad because terrorism is bad"). In which case my point about guilt-by-association does not apply.
Edit: It seems that the part with terrorists (00:48) is used as argument against piracy. Just because terrorist are evil it does not mean that piracy is (same level) evil. (Does not matter if e.g. Hitler did something good to be remembered.) More about guilt by association see wikipedia "Reductio ad Hitlerum"
@petrhluzin I'm not quite sure where you're going with this because I can't see how Hitler comes into an ad made against privacy. By the way, what was it that Hitler did that was not wrong for which he should be remembered for instead?
FYI, I resourced that image from a govt. website giving out similar message!
I think this advertisment has been put together extremely well. It consists of a well balanced combination of relevant pictures, text and music to make it stand out from the crowd. It doesn't last to long, it is punchy and gets to the point. A well thought out piece. x x
