I finished it. I thought the last section made the book. I have to agree with you on the epilogue. I thought it was almost like the author got tired of writing the book and so decided to condense everything in a few pages in a narrative style. Overall I thought the book was alright but I didn't really like the author's writing style.
I know the ending crept up and then it's like all of a sudden this is what happens for the rest of their lives lol. I was really sad that Iris died young and her and Casper weren't together for long. I think that the ending is supposed to be showing what Ruth's involvement in the book is as it is her writing. It was thought provoking but I like more happy endings lol
Yes, its so bittersweet because yeah Iris and Caspar end up together, but they make it sound a bit like, well, they just got over it and settled for each other instead of how intensely she felt for him throughout the book...
I actually kinda enjoyed the book, but like you I was disappointed in the ending. I don't know if Clara actually fell in love with the Prince, or if she finally realized what it meant to do something for ones family and did what was necessary to save Ruth. I don't know if Clara really got her happy ending. :|
That's how I felt... I liked it, but I was more concerned about Iris' and, of course, Clara's happy ending.. or at least an ending that didn't wrap up the whole book in three strange pages! :)
Hi
