Love the pipes. I'll probably get them for the Fat Bob I'm aiming for. My father runs Screamin Eagles on his bike, which sound good. But this is more to my liking. Feel it to the bones or your doin it wrong.

fantastic sound, plus I like the way they look. The shorter pipes look much better on that particular bike. Long pipes and true duals belong on retro bikes like the Heritage and Road King.

hey there larr will i just bought a 2009 and i am going to buy the same set up did you buy the pipes from samson itself, also where did you get that air filter from, maybe vance and hines, also do you know what the ecm calibration is on a stock night train, but hey you got a bad ass bike, hope to get mine running that good and sound that good

Thanks man, I bought the pipes from Samson's website. They are The Legend Series. The BG2s and BG3s have the baffles welded in, and the heat shields are not removable. The air intake is from Screamin Eagle, I bought it at my local Harley Dealer(not cheap). The calibration was taken care of by the Fuelpak from Vance & Hines, it tuned the engine to make up for the increased air flow.

yeah i think im going to get those pipes, and i seen that harley has a black forward facing filter so that would be great on my bike, and yeah its pretty expensive, also im talking to vance and hines abou the fuel pak, i guess my part number is 61007a so i didnt know if you had the same, also they gave me a map part number or FP-1348. so i guess when i get itll figure out, but its pretty easy to install right and use,

Yes it is very easy to install and use. What I like about it the most is, if you ever make any additional changes to your bike in the future, you can email Fualpak and they will send you a new map to put in. No laptop needed. You simply tell them what changes you made, and they send you a map. Pretty sweet deal

When you buy it, you tell them what bike you have and any mods you might have done, they send you the correct model. They will include a code list with the settings they recommend for the application you indicate, you must input the numbers. It is super easy, step by step instructions help a lot. Worth every penny!

The sound comes from removing the baffles from the pipes. If your bike is injected and you remove the baffles, you will need a fuel programmer to compensate for the lack of back-pressure. It's worth the extra money to achieve sound like this.

The samson line is good stuff, the rips, the pounders, and the new continuation...the hell raisers for dynas. As with each individual motor build, each will produce a different tone specific to the individual motor. This way all our bikes have their own "voice." Even same family with same pipe bikes.
