Yes it is very similar to wow, but it has better graphics, differant content and anyway. A game has to be based off something anyway. Hey this is not a wow look alike game this has a customizable ability tree there are RIFTS the whole thing about tue game and it's just better always something happening and u arnt stuck with the same abilitys with every class it's more complex so for the people who say it's a wow look alike must a one track mind frame you kno just saying.
Environment lack essence, you have flat surface covered by the net of monsters, trees, and random items - that are so mathematically brain "dies" in few minutes. Same with rules (spells and skills), equipment, characters and skills.
And what about movement? Fight lack elegance or brutality and in addition to that last bits of realism are taken away by cheap programming.
This is 1'000th game I see that have "awesome" graphics and I cannot understand how developers can miss something so obvious. How this is possible. So many people spend incredible amounts of money to produce same mistakes over and over - and only games that stay above are basically clones of few productions.
Even on the Lowest setting the graphics are still better then WoW, but i just couldn't get into the game, I mean I only played it for an Hour but it didn't grab me at all.
It's a good MMORPG but Guild wars 2 will own any MMO ^^ you're free to enjoy Rift and WoW anyway surely, but you won't know what you're missing out on!

@kimarena1990 Not really, You may have slow/bad connection or something that is causing the video look laggy. That is happened to me once in youtube. But there is minor lag because the closed beta server were lagging a bit when I recorded this video.

Rift is really a great game, with great graphics, i think its one of the best MMO's ive played. Everything looks so nice, and the gameplay is great, they update alot, so you'll get more quests and much more.

GW2 is going to be a great game but it will not be the death of any MMO when its released. Why would it? They keep it free to play which means they dont make as much money as blizz and trion which means less content for gw2 players. Im still getting it cause its free and I liked the first but GW2 will not "feast" on any MMO's corpse my friend. And dont even get me started on TERA. That game will not be as good as you liked trust me. They have very bleak character movements and physical attacks.

@ImKing147 The "less content" part is where you're wrong. Let me explain. ANet mostly relies on box sales so they HAVE to make more content regularly, if they want to make more money and if an expansion isn't good enough, people just won't buy it. But if the developers have a steady income (subscriptions), they're really not in a hurry.
And if you want an example, take GW1. Its 6 years old, B2P and it still receives FREE updates, including new missions. But most people aren't even aware of this.
WOW is past it's prime. It's nice for you guys to stay with the community and stuff...but just really...shutup when you say stupid stuff like, "this game is a ripoff of WoW" on EVERY mmo video.
If that's correct EVERY VIDEO GAME EVER is a ripoff of the previous one...and that is not true. The way companies do it is this. They take the ideas of the last successful one, merge it into their own and make it better.

@Baldoxxx4000 WOW was bad enough you really think that Guild Wars is an MMO? Please GW is a massively single player online role playing game, with some multi player places. Rift actually is one of the best MMO's I have ever played, and had what was probably one of the best launches in the industry.
Rift has something against radeon i swear, i ran 60 fps on wow with ultra everything, ati radeon 4330 HD, (on my laptop) now on rift i can barely run 20 fps on low..but nice vid

RIFT has imported various ideas from WoW, Lotro, Warhammer as well as other games (which I didn't play, so can't comment about), but the highlight is the way it merged them all together - properly. It did a good job!

I mean, your CPU and Ram should be fine but the graphics card isn't so good, its not bad but its not really enough to run maximum settings maybe medium settings?. Maybe you should save up for an 6850/6870 or An GTX 560 Ti, those are much more suitable mid range cards which would give you the ability to max out the game and good FPS rate
i was lookin into overclockin my gfx card. i checked my coreclock & memory clock and compared it to a 5770 model coreclock = 750 5770 model = 880 memory clock = 1150 5570 model = 1250 so i overlocked it to coreclock 800 memory clock 1300.

I mean yeah it'll do something but i wouldn't recommend playing it on Ultra, I think you will definitely do well on Medium settings, atleast it'll be playable. @chosenxeno Have you looked at anything for Guild Wars 2? It has incredible graphics with low req's, physics based combat, active attacking (meaning no auto attack you actually keep using skills to do shit), a huge, persistant world, many races, and decisive factions. And unlike this games bland repetitive rift grinding it has dynamic events that are actually DYNAMIC. The same thing happening every 20 minutes in a game like rift is a joke. This game has already started losing subs, btw.
@Ozaze3 rifts are repetitive? You don't think GW 2 events will get repetitive? hmmm dumb ass. Also there is a zone event in rift where all players come together and is really fun plus you get a reward which gives shards allowing purchase of items. Great game in my opinion!

I'm just trying to get my opinion heard, since so many people seem to be listening to the idiots who only listen to what game reviewers say. First time I saw anything for this game I said "Wow that looks awful" and nothing I've seen or played in it has changed that one bit. As I said the soul-system is cool, but beyond that Rifts are just a rip off of public quests from Warhammer online.

GW2 is going to be a great game but it will not be the death of any MMO when its released. Why would it? They keep it free to play which means they dont make as much money as blizz and trion which means less content for gw2 players. Im still getting it cause its free and I liked the first but GW2 will not "feast" on any MMO's corpse my friend. And dont even get me started on TERA. That game will not be as good as you liked trust me. They have very bleak character movements and physical attacks.

@ImKing147 The "less content" part is where you're wrong. Let me explain. ANet mostly relies on box sales so they HAVE to make more content regularly, if they want to make more money and if an expansion isn't good enough, people just won't buy it. But if the developers have a steady income (subscriptions), they're really not in a hurry.
And if you want an example, take GW1. Its 6 years old, B2P and it still receives FREE updates, including new missions. But most people aren't even aware of this.

WOW is past it's prime. It's nice for you guys to stay with the community and stuff...but just really...shutup when you say stupid stuff like, "this game is a ripoff of WoW" on EVERY mmo video.
If that's correct EVERY VIDEO GAME EVER is a ripoff of the previous one...and that is not true. The way companies do it is this. They take the ideas of the last successful one, merge it into their own and make it better.

@Baldoxxx4000 WOW was bad enough you really think that Guild Wars is an MMO? Please GW is a massively single player online role playing game, with some multi player places. Rift actually is one of the best MMO's I have ever played, and had what was probably one of the best launches in the industry.

Rift has something against radeon i swear, i ran 60 fps on wow with ultra everything, ati radeon 4330 HD, (on my laptop) now on rift i can barely run 20 fps on low..but nice vid

@lysolbombs470 Yeah, I used to play WoW, and many other mmo's but RIFT takes them all and makes them better, Yes it has ideas of other mmo's and thats what mmo's do, they copy each other, but whats good about RIFT is, it takes the games we love, remake them with an awesome storyline and other features, etc etc, and adds in all the stuff we wanted in other mmo's, thats how fantastic this game is :) a Trion staff dude even said "people want this in an mmo, we give them it". peace.

@xXSleepwalker1993Xx Sad part is, a retard with half a brain wouldn't really give a fuck either way, and I just wish we were all like that lol :p But yeah, copied/ripped is not a bad thing by itself. It's when you improperly copy content from the game that things get effed up.
RIFT has imported various ideas from WoW, Lotro, Warhammer as well as other games (which I didn't play, so can't comment about), but the highlight is the way it merged them all together - properly. It did a good job!

I mean, your CPU and Ram should be fine but the graphics card isn't so good, its not bad but its not really enough to run maximum settings maybe medium settings?. Maybe you should save up for an 6850/6870 or An GTX 560 Ti, those are much more suitable mid range cards which would give you the ability to max out the game and good FPS rate

i was lookin into overclockin my gfx card. i checked my coreclock & memory clock and compared it to a 5770 model coreclock = 750 5770 model = 880 memory clock = 1150 5570 model = 1250 so i overlocked it to coreclock 800 memory clock 1300.
would this make any differents now? or am i wastein my time u think? :P trying to save money :D

I mean yeah it'll do something but i wouldn't recommend playing it on Ultra, I think you will definitely do well on Medium settings, atleast it'll be playable. During the Beta, this was before i got my new PC, i was playing the beta on my laptop on the lowest settings and omg soo Unplayable LOL but now i have a new PC its going Fine which am please with so you should consider yourself lucky to not be one of those laptop users LOL

The only thing Rift has done thats even slightly interesting is the class system, which IO give them credit on. To bad it comes rapped in a generic game of little worth.

@Ozaze3 GW2 won't do as Well as Rift the current theme in all the games you seem to like is PVP. PVP MMOs will never do as well as PVE. Most people Dream about Crushing that Giant at the end of a game not some scrubnub. Rift is the best MMO released since WOW. I keep my eye on all of them even the F2Ps. Rift is the Only MMO since WOW to get positive Reviews from every major Reviewer across the board it's even made it's way into people WOW blogs. You are confusing "bad" with "I don't like". QFT.

@chosenxeno Have you looked at anything for Guild Wars 2? It has incredible graphics with low req's, physics based combat, active attacking (meaning no auto attack you actually keep using skills to do shit), a huge, persistant world, many races, and decisive factions. And unlike this games bland repetitive rift grinding it has dynamic events that are actually DYNAMIC. The same thing happening every 20 minutes in a game like rift is a joke. This game has already started losing subs, btw.

@Ozaze3 rifts are repetitive? You don't think GW 2 events will get repetitive? hmmm dumb ass. Also there is a zone event in rift where all players come together and is really fun plus you get a reward which gives shards allowing purchase of items. Great game in my opinion!

I'm just trying to get my opinion heard, since so many people seem to be listening to the idiots who only listen to what game reviewers say. First time I saw anything for this game I said "Wow that looks awful" and nothing I've seen or played in it has changed that one bit. As I said the soul-system is cool, but beyond that Rifts are just a rip off of public quests from Warhammer online.

@Ozaze3 I have the game, I played it and I think it is great. Games such as WoW really cannot compare seeing as it has all features and some dynamic content which WoW lacks completely. GW 2 will be dog's bollocks but wait and see. Maybe it will turn out to be worse than it looks in reviews.
