@Liberalshinigami Yeah because this movie is suppose to be a sequel to Welcome to the Dollhouse. In the beginning of Palindromes they are at Dawn's funeral because she killed herself.
@Jotheho1988 It's not just a throwaway line, it's actually dealt with quite well. Solondz actually wanted Dawn as a character in Storytelling as well as Palindromes but it was Heather Matarazzo that turned him down both times.
It was pretty genius. Depending on who was playing Aviva, you felt completely different about what was happening. Same story, but with different people. It's supposed to be somewhat disturbing.
@TheSlickAndroid I think to stick with the theme of the "palindrome"... No matter what we may "transform" into we are still the same person inside. For example even the name "Aviva" is testament to that because switched around it still reads the same thing.
It's weird how it doesn't match what the feel is like at all though. I don't think there's anyway the narrator saw this movie. I wrote that a long time ago, I've changed artistically & internally to where I don't like this movie as much, but I should check it out again, that DR. Bob song was priceless. I couldn't stand that days of war movie or whatever it's called, ~Solndz's work has slipped a little since Happiness & Dollhouse.
@MirraSyren This film is no where near happiness but life during wartime was good though. I'm interested to see what he does next. I only just recently started watching his other films despite seeing happiness when in came out.
You might check out fear, anxiety, & depression, ~it might be anxiety, fear, & depression, ~I'm getting up there, & so it was about 20 years ago. It's really funny & dark as hell of course, & it stars Todd Solondz!
@ohmyclumsyheart Kind of. But it's also happy. Because we're all dynamic and can change horribly in years or months or days. I think that if you look back at yourself when you're 80 years old, you could probably think back on even the bad years fondly. No one can ever be you, you can never be anyone else. You're an individual.
1:03 what's the name of the movie ???? xD :P

@TheSlickAndroid I think it describes how she feels. Other actor / other emotion.

@MirraSyren I've seen this movie and the movie is hard to make any sense of the first time you watch it!
Though i did really enjoy it, just the same character had like 6 different actresses so I was a little confused.
It's not a movie you can do ten things at once while watching for the first time.

Also because of Michael. He explains that we're all palindromes. No matter what we do to ourselves, we're the same people we were born as.
