I must disagree with you, ChipyMunky. Fighting in Ice Hockey has been a tradition since the 19th century. If the NHL banned fighting, I assure you the fan base of hockey will not change. Of course, fighting brings excitement to the crowd and both clubs. It's healthy for the sport but we do not depend on it for ratings.

Watch the video, the Ducks harass him, the refs try to keep people separated, and Fedoruk decides if he can't fight Avery, he'll grab a bystander and wail on him. In THIS particular instance, I feel Avery is taking the blame for Fedoruk's improper behavior. And the first ones to improperly assess the fault are the Anaheim announcers. Keep the bias out of the booth.

I must disagree with you, ChipyMunky. Fighting in Ice Hockey has been a tradition since the 19th century. If the NHL banned fighting, I assure you the fan base of hockey will not change. Of course, fighting brings excitement to the crowd and both clubs. It's healthy for the sport but we do not depend on it for ratings.
