Jackie Wilson - "AS LONG AS I LIVE" - go make one of your own... Low life!!!

  • je ne m'en lasse pas ....j'adore AL GREEN chante divinement bien ....que du bonheur

  • that man caught the holy ghost singin this... thats wat i call real soul

  • I love me some Al Green...

  • This Song Is a part of my life with my Bee-U-tee-full wife and my BELOVED CHILDREN. All 5 of Them. "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE U ALL, EVEN AFTER I DIE"

  • Yeah, he killed this one. Excellent stuff!

  • Al Green clowned on that stage .you can tell he was in his comfort zone, and killed it !!! one of the last of the great soul singers of all time!!

  • I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy Al Green singing that song because he did a nice job. But No Change is Gonna Come when it comes to singing this song in the beat of perfection and that can only be done when it is Sam Cook's voice.

  • yea yea yea yea yea yea..........yes yes yes yes lord goosebumps over my entire body. Do your think Al.....respect to Sam Cooke

  • oh My god and all the goodness his body is his instrument and that is what music should be about AL GREEN omg " Beyond the SKY" oh yes it will!!!!!! otis redding is also amazing at this song!!!

  • Fantásticooo!!!!

  • He's a great performer!!! Good interaction with the public

  • There are MANY versions transmitting the original passion

  • yes

  • This version and Otis Redding's version are the only two I've heard that really capture the spirit of Sam Cooke's original version. Its probably no small coincidence that Booker T & the MGs played the instrumentation for this song for both Al and Otis. Truly spectacular rendition of a timeless classic. Thanks for posting this.

  • hands down, this is the BEST viedo i have ever seen!!!

  • I've got an awesome version of this song on my youtube channel.

  • HOW BEAUTIFUL LIFE IS WITH THESE BLESSINGS

  • Somebody Say Yeah!!! I got goosebumps from head to toe right now.........

  • Al Green is the best. Thats just soul

  • damn uncle al is the best

  • How could anyone not like this!

  • Ain't nothing in the world like soul music! Al did his thang on this! Saaaannng it!

  • The Reverand Got "Church" Going In The Arena And I Love It

  • Will some one please help me down load this version on CD from You Tube..PLEASE SOMEONE

  • I dont care what nobody say he has always look like a thicker Denzell Washington to me..especially when he smiles!

  • ut oh Mr. Al Green is cutting up towards the end. Kick it bro! Lawd if he aint preaching to the choir, he is singing the hell out of this

  • ut oh Mr. Al Green is cutting up towards the end. Kick it bro!

  • Great performances by Mr. Al Green, we love you Al just like we loved Sam!

  • god gave the vice al grene sings

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN....................WOW.......one of my top 3 soul singers of all time................Al Green, Otis Redding and Luther VanDross, but this performance is the best of the best!!

  • sweet baby jesus that was better than sex

  • Booker T Jones of Booker T & The MG's on Keyboards

  • @mrrlsaylesjr Man that's ALL the MGs except for Al Jackson Jr.. The Colonel & Duck are there in full effect!!!!

  • Sam Cooke was looking on this performance smiling.

  • Wonderful song and singer, wow!!!

  • i was born in 64 i been beat down knock down and call NIGGER NOT NIGGA but i have always stood back up this is my crying song . its raw and beautiful............

  • Yes!!! Bad hair day for my boyfriend, but great song! Love, love, love him singing this!!!

  • Rev. Al Green killed it...

  • 2:51-3:00 *TEARS*

  • Zero dislikes, who saids we don't live in a perfect world.

  • Al sure knows how to channel the energy from deep within

  • What's the Stax gang doin there? I see Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, and Booker T. And the Memphis Horns, Wayne Jackson and Andrew Love.

    Incredible version.

  • perfect

  • Brilliant!

  • I DON;T CARE WHAT HE IS SINGING, HE ALWAYS TAKE YOU TO CHURCH!

  • I don't think this was one of the top live performances ever. IT IS THE GREATEST LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ANY SONG BY ANY ARTIST!! I saw it the night the R/R Concert, I bought the CD and even 15 years later, I get goose bumps when I here this. Many pass over Al as a great African American performer. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding... The competition is the elite of the elite, but no one can grind it out night after night like Al. Bring on the Love Al!!

  • great song!

  • great clip!

  • AL is interesting singer but if you want to listen this song go here much better:

search for Otis Redding - A Change is Gonna Come

    feel it :)

  • @TeternalGIone WRONG !....... Thanks for the attempt

  • I love it!!!!

  • Can I get an amen for the Rev Al Green?

  • @tnman39 AMEN!

Thank you again for taking your time posting this!

  • wow.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I watched the original broadcast of this R&R Hall of Fame show. Al's rendition of "A Change is Gonna Come" immediately became the best live performance I'd ever seen!!! I've been looking for this video ever since. I bought the "Ali" soundtrack just because this version was on it.

  • This was shown on HBO -- Cleveland Ohio, celebrating the grand opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in September of 1995. I sat and watched, with my mouth open, and went out and got a LOT of Al Green records afterwards. This is probably my all-time favorite live performance, by anybody, period. Booker T. & The MG's backin' him up, too. Thanks for sharing this!

  • I remember Rev Green doing this 14 years ago. I am so happy that it has been posted. My favorite version of this song as well. For a great new updated version check out Ben Sollee.

  • I remember he did this on either Letterman or Conan years ago and I lost the tape. It was so amazing. I was blown away

  • Thanks for coments...

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for it for the the longest time. I've heard many different versions of this song, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Patti LaBelle, Seal, Aaron Neville, etc. They all made the hair on my arms stand up, but this version damn near brought me to tears. Thanx!

  • it surely will!
