  • Im a 14 year old child and my body fat is 11.5%. I have been doing cardio for a couple of months now and my body fat has dropped from 12% to 11.5% Should i do ab exercises now. I am getting sick of spending an hour a day at the gym to do cardio. Someone told me i should build my abs now for them to start showing is this true?

  • @brittrosa1 Any workout will help you lose weight. What you need to focus on more is what you are eating! No matter what kind of exercise you are doing it is still gonna be hard to lose weight if you don't have a good meal plan. Lay off dairy products, foods or drinks with high amounts of sugar, and most importantly FAST FOODS! If you try to start going for a run 2-3 times a week and eating right you should notice a change in your weight. Hope this helps and good luck!

  • @brittrosa1 since this is a muscular exercise , no you will not lose weight , infact you'll be gaining weight since muscle weighs more than fat. If you want to lose weight however, you need to do loads of cardio ; jogging , sprinting , swimming , cycling .etc

  • 3-4 days seems excess.. Especially if your doing 4 days a week worth of other exercises.

  • Thank you for posting this, I've been using it for a month or two and I've really noticed a significant change in my core strength and consequently my balance and running ability, overall it's just been awesome! Especially the knowledge you passed on in the video, it was very good to know. :) However, it's reached the point where I no longer find this workout as challenging as before, so I was wondering if you had any advice as to what kind of core strengthening exercises I should try next?

  • Ive been doing this for ages, look for different ab vids on youtube but nothing else is anywhere near as good. Its good that you do the whole routine as well, gives me something to work to. Still need a couple of seconds between each new exercise though, that shit drills.

  • @ChengIsHere You take a break when your form starts to suffer. For instance, if you start using your back for momentum to throw yourself to the top of a sit-up, then you're putting undue stress on your bones, and you've stopped working the ab muscles altogether. Go for as long as you can, and then take breaks as needed.

  • @joeavfc93 well said mate , but everything takes time ...i know there are body builders that do this but they usually take pills or excessive amounts of protein which is not very normal , in order to be just a random guy who wants abs you have to watch your diet , work out often , sleep ...(genetics always help)

  • @sebascisv you can't make a perfect 6 pack in 1 month it requires almost a year of training and being on a low fat diet.... the key for a perfect 6 pack is eating healthy so you can be slim and then do some ab workout...

    In one month of diet and training you can make the 2 upper abs visible.....

    I'm no expert but I suggest protein, especially for muscle building. When i get home from school I'm usually hungry. I have fruit of some sort. In the morning I eat mixed grains and almonds. (Wheat+lagoom=protein) Later on, I do an evening workout after which I drink a protein shake, which will make you fell full so you don't have to worry about snacking.

    Don't know if its true or not. but it's worth a try.

  • @pingpingpiang Depending on your current diet, refine it to healthier foods. Also do more cardio than ab workouts because until you get the "fat" off, your developing abs will make your stomache seem larger than it is.

  • @castrejon94 try putting your hands under ur pelvis, and while your doing this , flex your abs and just lift ur legs like u would normally lift ur arms up to the air, just lift ur legs and do those rotations but flex your abs,

Though i hate doing ab exercises slowly, i must say that its impressive you could do them that slow. must have hurt like hell, haha

  • @00koke did this for a month and a half and I did get upper abs but did not reveal the lower abs. perhaps my diet and cardio wasnt balanced. its a good workout though.

  • I suggest keeping your hands under your pelvis to keep your body in place. The way you're doing it puts a lot of stress on your neck, which isn't too healthy.

  • @DrunkRussian2112 I would agree if you're first starting out. The point is to strengthen your core. Eventually you shouldn't have to use your hands because your core should be doing the work for you instead of your neck. Also, if you're neck is getting sore after this workout, you're probably using the wrong form somewhere.

  • @cameron22555 well make sure your back is on the floor all the way, dont lift your back up, and dont lift your head up wth your hands, just put tem somewhe else or let them be almost touching yur ead like and try to stay in place lol i do the same thing

  • a normal leg raise + sit ups + 1 - 2 mile running + search for a normal diet that suites you = ABS :)

  • as i am a boxer and yes your quite right about doing all the different type's of training and eating health for your abs. But you have to rest them and it's best to not do the same exercise guy's defonatly go running if you want to loose weight, before training the ab's it's the quickest way to lose weight all you need is a sweat suit or just reagular black or green bag put one of them on before you go running will loose about 1killogram but try not to drink to much when you get back.

  • really feel it but you shoud do en anther ab workout in gym with exercise where you can do only 12 reps. So anyway the key for a sixpack is diat and cardio. The FOrm of the abs is secundary in my opinion

  • @bleh86meh if you have a normal biorythm (you go to sleep between 23:00 and 1:00), then around 20:00. that's when the muscle gain will be the largest. for cardio workouts however, when you're trying to lose body fat, you should do them as early as possible, before the breakfast, that way your body will waste calories from your fat, not from the food you ate

  • @Pashazgv okay, but is it still okay if i run in the evening? i usually did that, but now i think im going to start to run earlier.

  • @bleh86meh of course, you'll just be losing body fat a bit slower. however, if you want to do a good cardio workout, you pretty much have to do it in the evening, or you'll simply end up without energy. one thing you really shouldn't do is doing strenght workouts that put weight on your spine, since you still have water in your dics in the morning

    usually when someone has 10% or less body fat they have visibility of abs

    if you have that bf % and still don't see any, just train your abs and you won't need cardio as long as you stay below 10%
