'ey! Don't diss Tytania, space opera's deserve subbing. The others...urgh. Seriously, fansubbers these days suck, since they're too busy subbing the same old crap, which, furthermore, is bound to be licensed, instead of spending time working on the older shows, the truly RARE things. It's sad. It really is.

Ahh. Well, I'll admit (shamefully) that I have yet to actually see either series (I plan to watch LOGH eventually, but I fear that the sheer length to the series might be daunting for me, and I wasn't even sure if Tytania had been fully subbed. I just remember idiots on crunchyroll going "THIS LOOKS LIKE CODE GEASS BUT CODE GEASS IS SO MUCH BETTER -o-;;;;" and I wanted to rage). I'll take your word for it until I see either series.

LoGH is good *becase* of it's length, and the fact that it was not made for tv release; it is an OVA series, afaik. The reason for this is because you have entire episodes that are just history lessons on the fictional universe, or you have battle scenes where people are stuffing their intestines back into their bodies... can't show these types of things on a tv anime. Having said that, LoGH does have bad points and isn't all good.. but it's certainly better than most of the crap out there.

@Zalibaba Regarding LOGH: partially true, as the project started for TV broadcast, then they didn't find any valid network willing to air such an expensive project and risked it going straight with the OAV format, a very risky and thus unusual one for long shows.

@yumeshimanet ooh! I didn't know it started out as tv, thanks ! I'm thinking of re-watching the show again. I still think the earlier seasons were the best.. towards the end it got silly because the good guys were invincible and the 'bad guys' (not really bad, mind you) were complete idiots always falling for the simplest traps. And then, with a cast of 60 ppl, everyone had to have a super dramatic death.. it made it less unique and more like other animes =(

@Zalibaba Actually I didn't find all these flaws in the latest season, and I enjoyed it a lot, as many open threads were finally brought to an end in a satisfactory way. Well, most of them, at least.

And there were anti-climatic deaths too, think of Oberstein to name the (maybe) most impressive one...

@LEW2X It sucks that U.S. Manga Corps went under & Bandai Entertainment would rather localize Haruhi Suzumiya, instead of Votoms, Chirico was the successor of God ,same  goes for Code Geass fans Votoms Improvised "skating" Mecha & Dragonar improvised "Flight modules" for the real type mecha,

@HalJordan69 It's not really a rip-off, so much as it was written by the same man who wrote LoGH. It was bad because they didn't give it as much of the spirit of his writing and tried their damnedest to add in the next hot thing: moe girls. Instead of adding in the charat

@HalJordan69 Tytania isn't a rip-off. It's written by the same man, Yoshiki Tanaka. That said, they decided not to give it as much of his writing spirit as LoGH (which was released straight to DVD as an OVA in installments, rather than aired on television like Tytania). That and they made the girls moe rather than compelling....
