every scout that has sat outside for any period of time had underbody rust just a poor door and windshield design by international even though theyre my favorite brand haha they were more worried about power and drivetrain back then

scouts rusted bad because at the factory the sheetmetal used in making the scouts during most production, sat outside of plant, getting weathered, started rusting, and they would not remove rust before stamping, cutting & molding and painting it to make the body panels. Sometimes sheetmetal deliveries did make it inside plant. A scout that was made with "inside metal" is extremely rare, as they are easy to notice by inspection of undercarriage. Sadly, most were made with the outside steel.
