What are they trying to prove? I was in Beijing for a month and noticed no difference in the air quality. I'm a cyclist as-well, and as soon as I got back from China I went for a 40 km ride with 4 hill climbs on my fastest time yet! Whoever was interviewed was stuttering and looking around, clearly a made up answer, possibly because he was too nervous to explain why he is REALLY wearing the mask. Any takers?
