For the historically curious, the country that is now Israel was a British colony from 1917 to 1948, and before that, was ruled by the Ottoman Turks for around four hundred years. There never was an "Israeli occupation," especially since Jews have lived there for thousands of years, while the "Palestinians "did not come until the late nineteenth century.

@upuup That is not correct.  Palestine was the name given to the area by the Romans, after the Philestines. The Palestinians are not descended from those people. And Jews have lived in that area for thousands of years. The homeland for the Palestinians is Jordan. And the Palestinians declared war on Israel the very next day after the UN granted her independence. So much for the false charge of ethnic cleansing.
