Grew up in the area. The entire area known as modern day KY was sacred Indian hunting land and nobody was allowed to live on the land. It was for hunting only! So, if the people of the state of KY want to do the right thing they should vacate the land and the rock be given to the Indians.

OK I'm living in Kentucky, and really, I think this is bullshit. It's a fucking ROCK! And obviously KY didn't give a shit about it... they didn't even know where it was! And since it wasn't declared some state landmark, it's free game!

I've never been able to understand why the states along the Ohio river that border Kentucky don't just tell KY to F' off...WHY do the inbreds claim to the highwater mark?

Ohio and Indiana should just kick their asses real good and claim to the highwater mark on the Kentucky side and make them like it.

If it was not for Steve we would not have ever seen the rock. All kids growing up in Southern Ohio had heard of the "ROCK" but no one ever saw it. THANKS STEVE. Kentucky get a grip.

Legally doesn't some individual actually own where this rock was found? Shouldn't that person take this to civil court? I feel all of our state congresses have better things to do than spend the time we are paying for doing things like this instead of more important things, such as trying to lower our taxes instead of how much time they can waist on what is actually one persons problem. Maybe the actual owner wants to give it to Ohio or have it put in his own front yard. It should be his.
