@VictumRoManius Thing is, Russia did the exact same thing as Georgia during the Chechen wars. Their war lead to the deaths of roughly 50000 civilians. Russia had been aiding the South Ossethian separatists which have committed terrorist attacks on Georgia and made an ethnic cleansing of Georgians in that area for quite some time before the war. Russia could have just kicked the Georgians out and stopped at the Georgian border. But they didn't and roughly 2000 Georgian civilians died as a result.

@mufc4ever4me Well you can't really say that it would be wrong to supply one country with weapons as Russia supplies high-tech weapons to countries like Iran, Syria, North Korea, Libya etc. Goergia did use rocket artillery towards separatist locations and killed roughly 200 civilians in the process. That's a serious crime, no doubt. However, it certainly does not justify Russias actions in killing roughly 2000 civilian Georgians as a result of the invasion of Georgia.

@mufc4ever4me The U.S. never interfered in that conflict, but expressed some serious concerns about the conflict as Georgia was on its way of becoming a NATO member. Russias actions toward Georgia were swift and without any hesitation. Russia was prepared for this conflict long before it actually happened. And if Russia acted the same way as Georgia, does that not mean they're just as wrong and that somebody should have stopped Russia like Russia stopped Georgia?

@mufc4ever4me they recieved training to become a member of NATO. Georgias military mostly uses older Soviet equipment and has just recently started to update its old equipment. Russia was prepared which is why they managed to mobilize an entire tank battallion in less than 10 hours in South Ossethia.

Considering Georgia had about 3000 soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan at that time, Russias retaliation was WAY out of the line. Russias counterattack was just a force of show and to keep more states from going independent.

Ossetian rebels were illegal fighters which had attacked Georgian towns and patrols, killing several military and civilian personnel, that justifies Georgian attack, not in the scale they performed it though, artillery was overkill.

Russia had been aiding the South Ossethian separatists which have committed terrorist attacks on Georgia and made an ethnic cleansing of Georgians in that area for quite some time before the war. Russia could have just kicked the Georgians out and stopped at the Georgian border. But they didn't and roughly 2000 Georgian civilians died as a result.

@mufc4ever4me Well you can't really say that it would be wrong to supply one country with weapons as Russia supplies high-tech weapons to countries like Iran, Syria, North Korea, Libya etc. Goergia did use rocket artillery towards separatist locations and killed roughly 200 civilians in the process. That's a serious crime, no doubt. However, it certainly does not justify Russias actions in killing roughly 2000 civilian Georgians as a result of the invasion of Georgia.

@mufc4ever4me they recieved training to become a member of NATO. Georgias military mostly uses older Soviet equipment and has just recently started to update its old equipment. Russia was prepared which is why they managed to mobilize an entire tank battallion in less than 10 hours in South Ossethia.

Considering Georgia had about 3000 soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan at that time, Russias retaliation was WAY out of the line. Russias counterattack was just a force of show and to keep more states from going independent.

@bella140791 You are really mature. South-Ossetia was legally part of Georgia, AFAIK now there is some puppet goverment led by some militant. Ossetian rebels were illegal fighters which had attacked Georgian towns and patrols, killing several military and civilian personnel, that justifies Georgian attack, not in the scale they performed it though, artillery was overkill.
