  • One of my favorite moments of the series...Dan's second, "If he *don't die*..."

  • No doubts Dan's ass would have been in the pig pin if he had crossed Bullock when he was in that mood. The boy was in the war and he didn't play.

  • I got a friend exactly like Dan Doherty. Same build, same exact voice and southern drawl. Same personality. lol

  • @piratebri So do I Haha! Makes me want to try to be more like Al since I sound and look perhaps like a younger version of him.

  • Great scene.

    Dan calls it.

  • Dan had his moments.

  • What a shame this series was cancelled. Oh, what could have been!

  • I won't do a 2 on 1. We'll take turns like White Men!

  • Gotta Love Dan,,everyone has a purpose. Ya otta pin that on yer chest Brilliant !

  • I feel sorry for the sheriff!

  • It's weird how they hate each others fucking guts yet they can still converse like normal human beings.

  • @spdstr588 That's called being an adult.

  • looks like your mother fucked a monkey

  • @loganachilles1982

I bet you take it up the ass! lol

  • Ian McShane, and Tim Olyphant MADE the show. I can't imagine Deadwood without them. Of course the rest of the cast are fantastic too. Thanks for posting! Reminds me I need to watch the series again.

  • "I don't swim in that shit"

    awesome quote

  • Rome Sopranos, Dexter, > deadwood

  • @Kampex ur moms a whore.

  • @Kampex SOPRANOS??!!

That show kept promising a huge mafia war pay off but it never happened. All that happened was too many fucking theropy sessions. I barely got through Tony's coma episodes...

    You are smoking crack.

  • You cut it off too soon.

This scene needs the "you should put that badge on....you are just hypocrite enough wear it" from Dan at the end

  • @HugoRune1976 - lol, check out 1:26.

  • @SkizMaroo Oh... Ooops

  • @SkizMaroo I guess some people type out their comment before they even watch the entire video? How does that even work? How will you know what to comment on? That is a real noodle scratcher.

  • @ontariobuds Lol, maybe from smoking too many buds :) I cant speak for Ontario, but I once had an opportunity to sample some B.C. Bud, and all I can say is wow. I was glad I didnt have to talk to any Mounties. I doubt I could have spelled my name correctly :) I had to carry some back to the ATL for my friends to try. Ive never been so unhappy to see a dog in customs, lol.

  • @HugoRune1976 Yes indeed. Dan may be a thug, but he knows which end is up.

  • @HugoRune1976 Try watching the entire video next time :)

  • err, i love deadwood, but don't put down the sopranos because along with this show, deadwood, the sopranos and the wire we have the three top television shows ever.

  • dan would so whip bullock

  • Yes, even better than The Sopranos was. Deadwood was the best ever.

  • "and those society people in New York City, who live with their heads up their asses anyway..."

About as correct of statement as could be made, should have included D.C.

  • Very nice!

    Pure Rage...in so elegant manner.

  • i love Bullock! he looks really happy and at the same time he looks like he is gonna raise hell! :D

  • I don't swim in that shit! FTW

  • the dvd commentary by timothy olyphant and ian mcshane, that's featured on this particular episode, is hilarious.

  • nice vid! apparently Mcshane and Milch are working on putting something together

  • what did you hear about them doing?

  • Deadwood is as good as anything I've ever seen, and I'm not restricting it to movies. Shakeseare like one poster said, yes, but with a depth that is awe inspiring. It should come back.

  • this scene was cut from the US version dvd?

  • It came from the US version.

Im a bit confused about the term 'cut'. In video I think of cut as 'left out of', as opposed to music where a cut would refer to a take. ie "Damn, thats a great cut!"

  • @SkizMaroo I do not remeber this scence at all, and I have watched the series many times over.

  • @Zoroasterrrr no it wasn't

  • I don't think there has been better writing on Television.

  • If there has been, I would LOVE to see it :)

  • Watch The Wire! For me The wire is the best tv show, ever, and than Deadwood!

  • Damn! Thats high praise. Ill have to check it out. :)

  • Yeah Deadwood and The Wire are both right there. on any given day given the mood I'm in either is number one on my list. Great writing and great acting in both.

  • Deadwood is a shakespeareon western. Total Brilliance.

  • Very well said. You summed it up better than I ever could have.

  • thanks brother. Love the video.

  • @diamonddust22 I have been sayign that for years.

  • One of the BEST lines ever delivered by Dan Dority!!

  • I recently downloaded seasons 1 and 2 off some website, it's a great show. I'd like a little more gunning (just the kind of westerns I grew up on) but the story makes up for it. The one and only big issue I have about the show is showing women with hairy armpits, they already made up a lot of the characters so they could've probably left out that bit of authenticity, sheesh. :)

  • Deadwood isn't a Western in the typical sense. it's a period piece.

  • Mayhaps, it was categorized under western/drama so I probably should have expected more. I'm still not really dissapointed with it, Al Swearengen was a fantastic character.

...still could've done without the hairy ladies.

  • Yes but Bullock saw the error of his ways and arranged for Otis Russell's protection. Which shows that, in the end, Bullock is the true steel and possesses genuine moral fibre.

  • That was almost the shame of the episode. Ole Otis deserved more than the ass beating he got. Marrying Alma off to Brom "that New York dude" Garrett was the first time he sold his daughter out... he was prepared to cut her throat for a piece of her gold claim..... he truly was a cocksucker :-)

  • I don't get this show.

  • What is it you dont get? You really have to watch it all from the beginning to follow the story but this clip is really just about hypocrisy. Bullock wants a man dead and thinks that if he can get someone else to do it his hands will somehow remain clean. Even the first line from the cavalryman illustrates just how dense and deluded people can be. I laugh and shake my head every time I hear it.

  • what was the first line? i couldn't quite catch it - something about taking turns like white men? nice clip -- i just recently started watching deadwood and am slowly making my way through the netflix dvds.

  • Lol, yeah he says (talking about a prostitute mind you) "I wont do it 2 on 1... we'll take turns like white men".

I liked the show when it was on HBO, but it wasnt until I rented the DVDs, and watched with the subtitles on, that I realized how much of the story I missed the first time around.

  • I've watched it from the very beginning so i've awaited something big but there was nothing special for me. Maybe i didn't quite catch the show or it's not my thing you know.

  • yeah, there is no "something big" per se. The beauty of this show was the storytelling and the dialog.... the contrast between good and evil and all the shades of grey in between. It was all about character development. If youre looking for Transformers style special effects you wont find it here. The story as a whole is whats special.

  • No no don't think i'm one of those people who think Transformers is the best the movie of all time. I'll prefer movie with great dialog and story rather than action and stupid love story. But i don't get this show. Is something wrong with me.

  • Lol, I dont think theres anything wrong with you. I know a lot of people who dont get the show. Frankly, I didnt get it at first either. I really had to dive into the story to appreciate what the show was about. To each their own.

  • No, nothing is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with me or SkizMaroo either. The measure of a show's quality isn't in the broadness of its appeal but in how much it is loved by the people it does appeal to.

  • Well said.

There are some who would argue about whether something is wrong with me or not, tho, lol.

  • @samo314159 If broadness of appeal was the sole qualifier, the best TV ever would be Big Brother, Talent(less) Shows and Oprah

  • Thats ok, "The Hills" is probably right up your alley

  • I heard Desperate Housewives was pretty good too, lol.

  • I DON'T SWIM IN THAT SHIT.

  • This is one of my favorite scenes - love the closeup of Bullock and Dan's wit

  • This show was amazing. Like another HBO show, Carnivale, HBO decided it had run its course and said they didn't want anymore episodes. Another one to be added to the "brilliant but cancelled" pile of tv shows.

  • White collar Time Warner shareholders don't fuck around and take a piss from nobody.

...sorry, must have been the show.

Anyways, don't think that these decisions are made by the directors or crews. Marketing determines the projected expected viewing figures. If this figure for an additional season lays under the average figure for a new first series, there is not going to be an additional season.

  • Like Murdoch these guys only care about return on investment even if it means producing capitalism critical content.

  • i never really watched this show but my dad watched it all the time i was more of a sopranos fan but with all the videos ive watched this show looks great im planning on buying the complete series box set

  • I think you will enjoy it. Its a different kind of story than the Sopranos in that its based on real events and real people.

Great storytelling too. Like the Sopranos you have to start at the beginning or you wont know what the hell is going on.

  • im buying the complete series this weekend ive seen a few episodes before do you know why the series was so short. Also did you know they are making a sopranos movie

  • Absolutely worth owning from a Sopranos fan point of view. I watch very few TV shows and buy less on DVD but this is a great show. You don't want to miss a word of the dialogue, nothing is wasted.

  • just gotta love bullock! crazy sherriff. lol love this show. thank you

  • Youre very welcome. I love this show too! I discontinued my HBO when they discontinued the show, lol!

  • Brilliant remark by Dan at the end.
