"Liberals" aren't all the same, and don't use the same methods to short their disapproval of the war, and the promotion of war. I don't know anyone among my peers who would support attacking a recruiting center. Stop thinking in black and white. Stop blanketing people in one group. Listen to the message of people calling for moderation. We can't have the US slip back into the dark ages because we're not paying attention, and reading between the lies and spin coming from groups like MAF.
The US Constitution grants and protects our freedoms. The US military protects the Constitution, and defends our shores. Unfortunately, they're not doing that now. That's no fault of theirs-they're doing what they signed up to, and that's follow the Commander in Chief. But when he's going down the wrong path, they have no choice but to go in kind. It's a sad situation. The troops need someone more deserving of them and their service.

9-11 was a one-time thing. It won't happen on that scale again(not because of Iraq, mind you). Terrorism isn't centered in Iraq-it's worldwide. You can't fight it by occupying one location. The terrorists in Iraq didn't exist until we arrived, and our presence creates more angry young men and women to be manipulated and led to terrorism by evil individuals using them for their own ends. Sounds to me like YOU have a problem with those of us who serve in the Army And Air National Guard. Are you one of those asshole-jerkoff's who have the mistaken notion that those of us who serve in the National Guard aren't REAL Soldiers and Airmen?
In case you hadn't noticed, not everyone who served in the military during the Vietnam War went to Vietnam!

as always i leave it to the people to decide what is the 'truth' to them, because often (as in this case) no matter how much 'proof' you provide someone or how many sources you offer so that they can research it for themselves, they still will tell you the sky is purple.

hard to believe that you are actually 45, i would think all people our age would at least know how to have a decent discussion of issues, but some must live in a household that tolerates someone that must always be 'right'. what constitutes a "fairy tale" to you? something that you don't agree with no matter how much evidence is presented to you to the contrary? i'm not down on the military, only people that follow orders blindly no matter how wrong they are or how many it hurts.
it depends on the issue, but when it is something that i am not familiar with i research on the internet and with books. on issues of the military, i have several friends and friends of friends that are veterans, so i deal with them directly. i never accept the first source, but instead research various sources both pro and con to the subject then make educated evaluations.

I was hoping you had resources such as the CIA, FBI, the Pentagon, the Senate, Congress or some place that held factual documents. I am not interested in friends or friends of friends. I don't think anyone actually knows any facts.

I've got no beef with any of the other guys on the ground -- didn't 40 years ago, don't today. That said I have a huge beef with the clowns who put them there. Respecting the troops means not putting their lives in danger when the enemy and the goals are unclear, not cheering the war from 8,000 miles away.

The US Constitution grants and protects our freedoms. The US military protects the Constitution, and defends our shores. Unfortunately, they're not doing that now. That's no fault of theirs-they're doing what they signed up to, and that's follow the Commander in Chief. But when he's going down the wrong path, they have no choice but to go in kind. It's a sad situation. The troops need someone more deserving of them and their service.

Sorry, but "we" (the US government, acting in our name, for corporate interests) started it, starting with our relentless support of Israel, and interventions all over the Middle East. That is a fact. They continued it, and now we've escalated it. 9-11 was a one-time thing. It won't happen on that scale again(not because of Iraq, mind you). Terrorism isn't centered in Iraq-it's worldwide. You can't fight it by occupying one location. The terrorists in Iraq didn't exist until we arrived, and our presence creates more angry young men and women to be manipulated and led to terrorism by evil individuals using them for their own ends. I just came back from a trip to Europe. I stayed in England and Germany. I was treated kindly in both countries. I was the one ashamed to say I was an American. I felt a burning desire to make excuses for my selfish, spoiled, clueless, UNEDUCATED fellow citizens. it depends on the issue, but when it is something that i am not familiar with i research on the internet and with books. on issues of the military, i have several friends and friends of friends that are veterans, so i deal with them directly. i never accept the first source, but instead research various sources both pro and con to the subject then make educated evaluations.
